Let's be honest Xanfor.  You're too private to let in anybody too close to yourself...  you let people in, but only at arm's length, and so we can pretend to get the extensive persona of Xanfor inundated to ourselves, you're actually refusing us the ability to take you in, with proximity, as an extension of ourselves, and by proximity understand you truly on an individualistic perspective.  There are many PEELers I have a relationship on this perspective, but I'm actually rather upset that I can't forge a tighter close-knit relationship with.

Okay, I'm sorry to bump such an ancient thread but, please elaborate, Winna. I know how he reacts, but I can't see it through your eyes.

I think that when he asks 'did anyone else see that?' it's because, over the years, he's learnt that people don't see things the way he does ("Did you see that vase break!? It was all like zapp! Pow! Kerrrpow!") - he doesn't know if it's synesthesia or something that everyone else can see as well.

Though this one wasn't that passionate/serious, it seems.

I would want Fry, Leela, or Amy as friends, too: Fry because he'd be fun, cheery, and kind, Amy for essentially the same reasons, and Leela because I think she'd be sympathetic and intelligent.
 
I'd also accept Zoidberg as long as he'd agree to bathe himself frequently and try to be the least disgusting he possibly can be. Overall he seems like a pretty decent person, and it would be cool to have a crab-alien as a friend.

I don't know if I want to be friends with any of them. I mean, sure, the idea is nice, but Bender will Rob you, Amy will bitch about you, Leela will be too needy or emotional. I suppose I wouldn't mind Fry, but he's got his impulsions and laziness. I'd go on, but you get the idea.

I don't get the big controversy about this thread. The original post firmly states that the user knows that they're not real, and there's nothing in it that suggests to me "I've got no friends in real-life, so I have to depend on cartoon characters!" Coldangel seems like a cyber-bully to me.
