P.S. I think it's cute when british people call it a "Flat" hehehehe.
Not just British!
Indeed, I call the Earth flat too.

What the...? They know we fly around the planet fairly regularly, right? They could do it themselves and see.

Well the earth is our home and we don't own it so it could be a flat.

So when Hermes says in the Sting "So show me you're blowing it out your fanny", is an inside dirty line?

And we find it cute, if not flatout fucking hilarious, when you say things like 'I've got a sore fanny'.
(hint: fanny does not mean ass in Britain)
It means 'ass' somewhere? Isn't an ass a donkey anyway?

I think in England ass is a donkey, arse or bum is the rear portion of your anatomy and fanny while being a term for butt in the US it is the corresponding front portion of a woman's anatomy.

Wow Danish women must be strangely built if their breasts are correspondingly in front of the butt area.

Hm... when do y'all think that the writers will finally realize that this on/off thing is getting old after the ten or so years they've known each other? Seriously, it doesn't have to be the focus of the show, but this season looks like there's going to be an overkill...

"On again off again" as it says in the article doesn't necessarily mean they're going back to the constant "Will you go out with?" me thing again. If I had to guess I would say it probably means more of an rocky relationship thing than another reset. Fry does lots of stupid things that piss Leela off after all. I'm guessing Fry posting embarrassing pictures of her on the internet goes under that category.

I'm with Frisco. I think the writers are just trying to avoid getting the characters into a rut, where they have to get married and have kids and move to the suburbs and become this boring sitcom family. I'm interested to see where they take Fry and Leela's relationship--I'm convinced that they're not going to play it like they did in the first four seasons (and the first three movies). I don't think we'll be getting a reset, but I don't know what exactly we will get--and that uncertainty is kind of exciting.

I think DXC is just exaggerating to make his point--Futurama cannot become the Fry and Leela Relationship Show. I think "on-again, off-again" translates to "They'll be together, but we'll only call attention to it when it serves some purpose in the story." In other words: Fry and Leela being together is not in itself a story; it's just a background detail that will be called to the fore when necessary.

Humph. Apparently, there's no life in this thread even when I make a outrageous comment (it's not what I really think, I just wanted to inject some life into this thread). So, my bump didn't work.
By the way, you don't think that Leela could actually develop a morsel of a relationship with Zapp Brannigan in the new season, right? They were holding hands and had their eyes looking up and glimmering with hope in one of the framegrabs...
Are they going to continue to let the characters age? I mean, it can't be too long before Kif and Amy's spawn sprout legs and walk on land.
Also, do you think that they would have all of those spawn survive? I mean, there's the fact (brought up by someone else) that they could barely survive their trip to the swamp, yet alone they have twenty or whatever years in there. But then again, Futurama just isn't one of those shows that would allow something like that to just die with little to no acknowledgement. Deaths either have to be funny, like Enos's, or be very emotional, like Seymour's (he laid down for the last time in his montage, I don't care what BBS did).

I still think that the placement of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela"--right after "Rebirth", which we're already pretty positive will contain a lot of Fry/Leela stuff, even if it does just result in a reset--could actually do wonders for the Fry/Leela ship. Being thrown into such close quarters with Zapp--a sexist (and sexlexic) moron who treats her like an object (hilariously, of course)--will make Leela appreciate what she could have with Fry. Even if it doesn't reverse this reset we're all worried about, I think it will give the Fry/Leela relationship some forward momentum.
And, if I'm wrong about the reset--if Fry and Leela end it with something ambiguously happy in "Rebirth"--then I think "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela" could solidify the rightness of that relationship in Leela's mind.
(Keep in mind that this would all be done in a subtle way; Futurama is by no means a melodrama, and I would not want it to be.)

Lars and Leela didn't sleep together; I'm pretty sure she would have noticed the tush tattoo sooner had they been, y'know, consummating things. As for Freako disappointing us: I've seen the episodes, and I won't say too much, but I think the second episode is going to be divisive, kind of like "The Beast With a Billion Backs." I personally didn't have a huge problem with the ending, from a ship standpoint, but I'm sure a lot of people will feel differently.
