For a fanfic I'm working on, I developed a character who is Zoidberg's distant cousin and a psychiatrist. Being as obvious and unoriginal as humanly possible, I named him Froidberg. (He's blue, and has a small "beard" as well as a "moustache," and he's about as good at psychoanalysis as Zoidy is at human anatomy.)

Then I began to worry, because I thought I might have heard the name somewhere before--so I entered "Froidberg" into a search engine, and found that name under one entry: what appears to be a German site's description of "Anthology of Interest I."

Tell me, please:

1) Is Froidy REALLY what they call Zoidy in Germy?*
2) Has anyone else done the "Froidberg" bit? I don't want to plagarize, even inadvertantly.

*no offense, couldn't resist the alliteration.

(Another search revealed that "Freudberg" is a real name! I did not know that! Hooray!)

No, I think this is stupidity or just a spelling mistake.

Alliteration is traditionally first-syllable-only, but one definition includes other syllables, so I suppose "Froidy-Zoidy-Germy" can fit the bill. I just didn't wanna tick off any folks from Germ(an)y...

HI, Zoidy is not called Froidy in Germy,
I´m sure there are names like Freudberg as Freude means gladness or pleasure like Freudenhaus (disorderly house) or Freudenmädchen (Prostitute)
