Maybe it's Leela's turn to be jealous for a while. We'll see.

My theory on that is that said girl is some manifestation of the tentacle thing. As supported by the line, Fry: Well I went to another universe and I fell in love with a giant octopus and now I'm the pope of a new religion."

Fascinating, !immortal! finally draws some realistic shippyness... edit: Linky, because the pic is very big and this new screen, despite being small, has a very high resolution which prevented me from noticing.

Because for some unfathomable reason, he loves her.
I believe this originally arose back when they were friends.

I think the closest that Leela ever came to enacting jealousy over one of Fry's girlfriends was when he was dating the Lucy Liu Bot ("Fry's made his decision...and no we've got to talk him out of it" ). Other than that, she's never displayed any noticable feelings one way or the other about anyone Fry was dating (even Amy).

She protects and guides and helps her friends when they're in trouble, even when they've been jerks to her. She does these things in spite of her own emotional problems. It's one of humanity's few redeeming qualities: the ability to rise above our flaws. I'd probably fall in love with a woman like Leela too, if I left my house long enough to meet one. She's strong and proud and noble, but also she's not afraid to show a gentle and caring side.

Are we calling Leela cold because she fell in love with Lars, or because she didn't try to hide the fact and lead Fry to think he still had a chance?
Either way it's pretty stupid. The heart wants what the heart wants. Then later it might want something different. Also, ice cream.

Leela has shown jealousy when it comes to Fry/Amy. Fry: Hey, why'd you run off from dinner? Leela: I didn't run off. I had plenty of time to finish eating and stroll away quietly while you were kissing Amy. Fry: Hey, you're not jealous are you? Leela: What! No, of course not! (she sounded pretty unconvincing here ) And I could have sworn I'd seen a little grumble/glare from Leela when Fry and Amy announced their relationship.

Leela leaves Fry to make his own decisions. Unless she thinks he made them wrong, in which case it's time for her to interfere in his life.

Yeah; about her trying to break them up, I said something to that effect a while ago, that even if she did exhibit jealousy she would couch it more in terms of being "concerned" about him or thinking that he wasn't acting like himself. Originally posted by Decapodian: Even in The Sting, the kind of guilt she had would be the level of guilt most people would have if they indirectly cause the death of one their best friends. It could be interpreted like that. In fact, the first couple of times I saw that episode that was how I was inclined to view it. However, the line about only feeling all right in her dreams, with him, made me kinda rethink it. Also, you don't really want someone's corpse under your bed, unless you really have some other issues with their death, other than just mild guilt.
