While we're talking about non-romantic friendships...
Anyone else ever notice how Leela seems to subtly take the role of 'carer' for Farnsworth?
She's often the one who has the most patience in dealing with his dementia, explaining things to him, etc.
And she adjusted his glasses for him in Roswell That Ends Well.
She has a caring soul underneath her crusty exterior.

Oh wonderful... top of the smegging page...

Perhaps the fature-figure she never had? Perhaps she's just exercising her maternal instincs on him. As long as it doesn't include changing soiled underwear...

Incidentally your sensitive side is showing again.   ;)

Someone will counteract with "But she's mean to Fry!" in three... two...

But she's mean to Fry!

*small smirk plays about lips*
Well she is, very mean and heartless at times...though she is nice enough to others I guess. Like Farnsworth, which coincidentaly Archonix draw a picture of, by my dare of course *sniggers*

Allow me to correct you, you're the butt of a joke but I'm not cruel. Rather, I'm a very nice person, just with a strange sense of humour and a tendancy to be rather nasty to people I don't like (as exhibited in pg9 of the 'Blame it on the Brain' thread).

I agree with everything you just said. The first season is my favorite for those and other reasons.

Coldy, I don't think Leela is as much the Professor's caretaker as Amy is. She's responsible for his dentures after all. Leela has her hands full keeping Fry and Bender out of trouble. Although she doesn't seem to be too good at that.

Leela more helps Fry and Bender get in and out of trouble than keep them out of trouble.

Good point, that. Yeah, true. Jolly good show, old chap.
Time for some Amy/Farnsworth porn.

Here's food for thought.
Who, exactly, is Amy looking at in this picture?

It's pre-Amy&Kif.

Re: the Amy/Zoidberg pic - I think that before Kif came along Amy would have shagged anyone. I have my suspicions about the alternate Amy in the hippie Universe from Parabox - she seemed rather close to alternate Farnsworth there.

And he had lots of long, glorious hair... Proof that if you want to cure baldness you must make love to many beautiful women?

Does Zoidberg actually have any friends to have a relationship with? The only thing that seems to be constant is Hermes hitting him. does that count?  :D

km73, it's a quote from shakespeare's play Julius Ceasar.

Also from Star Trek VI...

Ah, Julius Caesar, really. Could've sworn it was from a poem.

Um, on topic...yeah. About Fry being friendly to Zoidberg - it's just another aspect of his character really, he rarely holds any malice towards anyone. As for Amy and the Professor, it was definitely implied they were getting it on in Universe 420. But I guess there was plenty of free love going on there anyway...

Yeah, the rest of the crew was probably having an orgy in the lounge, which is why only Amy and the Professor where around. Either that or they were out being beaten by the fuzz.

Damn hippies.

It looks to me like Amy's staring at Leela, who's obviously flattered by the attention.

I phrased that wrong. I meant that we don't need to give him the encouagement because I don't have the desire either to see that picutre drawing.

I know we like to speculate, but, sadly, Amy's probably just in one of those "Wow, that was a good meal" comas.

Then again, maybe she had the oysters.
