Ok, I have missed out on a lot here. Although when I heard Leela was getting married I though instantly that it was going to be Fry. But now, I'm not so sure...

I either think that's true or:

Isn't the first movie about Bender time traveling and stealing things? Messing with the past messes with the future, so i bet the 'Leela getting married thing' happens as a direct result of something Bender did in the past and when whatever he did is inevitably fixed Leela won't be married anymore nor would she have even met the guy she would have married.

Or, Bender's time-thieving could have stopped Fry from coming into the future in the first place, so Leela would have never met him.  Then, it would be up to Bender to save the day.

Maybe Bender goes back in time and kills Fry in the 1940s, stopping Fry from being born.

Maybe he doesn't do anything to Fry but instead kills Fry's twin brother Thomas when they were infants.

And that is the story of why we've never seen Thomas.

Maybe Bender found out about Fry's love note in the sky, and stopped it being blown up, resulting in Leela seeing it and marrying Fry

That would kinda detract from TKOS though. Don't get me wrong I hope the wedding is Fry and Leela but it would seem like the writers couldn't think of anything else if they have to just repeat the same event with a different outcome.

Maybe something Bender does in the past causes Leela to stay in a relationship with Sean (such as not catching him cheating on her), and the relationship eventually leads to their marriage. Fry could have still came to the future and met Leela (which would explain why he would be at her wedding), but he never "articulated his thoughts" about her. So, the relationship between Fry and Leela would be nothing more that close friends like in the second season (with the possible exception of "A Bicyclops Built for Two" ).

Then again, if Leela was still dating Sean by the time of Fry's thawing, then she probably wouldn't have quit her job. Or would she have still? She quit mainly because Fry made her realize that she didn't like her job, but did Fry's charm (as a friend or love interest) help her with her final decision? It's very likely, as you could sense some tension between the two during that scene (until Bender cuts in and steals Leela's ring).

My theory does also somewhat support why her parents would still be stuck in the sewers instead of escorting her down the aisle. Fry was the one who introduced her to her parents. If he wasn't in love with Leela, he probably wouldn't have seeked them out like he did in "Leela's Homeworld".

Do we know that Leela is marrying someone besides Fry in the wedding dress scene?  Isn't Fry wearing a tux in the fortune teller's version in the Comic Con promo comic book? On the other hand, that comic book could just be dis-information and it would not surprise me at all if there is truth in the theory on the wedding being some alternate/parallel reality thread that gets undone in the end... What is the other source of this previewed/leaked scene?

I don't think that would be the least bit funny.
Or, for that matter, the least bit possible!
Zap is a pompous, haughty, egotistic ASS!
Drugging Leela won't change that.

As soon as she see's Zap for what he is, she'll tell him to take a long walk out the nearest air-lock!

Unless Zap has a complete change of character, his chances with Leela are zero!
No way, no how, not gonna' happen!

Plus with Zapp out of the way Leela won't worry so much everytime they go near the Nimbus and Fry will have a better chance of seducing her.

I completely support Venus's theory on the movie. It makes the most sense out of anything that could happen. Other than that, it wouldn't surprise me if it was leela and fry tieing the knot but Bender does something that either accidentally, or on purpose, prevents them from marriage, but in the end, fixes it.

It would make no sense what-so-ever if they were to permanently pair up leela with someone else..., Isnt that what most of the final season was about? Fry defining his feelings for leela and she growing more attached to him or something? NOT saying that's what it was all about but still..., Work with me here  hmpf

I still say it won't be Fry due to time travel. Also, when a promo like this mentions someone finding true love, you can almost be sure that that's not really the case. I'm predicting the movie to end with Fry and Leela slightly more involved than Season 4 (as in, Leela acknowledging what's there, maybe even dating (a man can hope), but not married).

Probably. A major plot point in the new movie is a time portal on Fry's butt. Bender is forced to gather valuable artifacts from various points in time. This would presumably alter the present, which could lead to Leela marrying someone she otherwise wouldn't.

Are you talking about the plot synopsis of "Bender's Big Score"? If you are, there should be a link to the page on FoxStore.com on either of the movie threads.

Talking about the movie, will we be following Bender (and possibly the rest of the gang) the entire time as he travels through time? Or, will the rest of the crew have cutscenes in their present/future time during Bender's adventure to tell what's going on in their own time when Bender is off stealing? That leaves another question, does time stand still when Bender is time traveling, or does time continue for the time that he is traveling through time?

If time continues, my guess of the plot is that when Bender returns to his present timeline after his epic theft of all of Earth's greatest treasures, he finds that his actions in the past has greatly effected the timeline as either Fry or Leela have gone their separate ways when it comes to love or something along those lines. Though, I have some strange idea that the two do show some signs that they are falling for each other before Leela's big day and/or the internet nudist scammers get involved with Leela's personal life and the wedding falls apart before the "I do" or Bender realizes his actions have made his life and/or Fry's and/or Leela's miserable and undoes his past "alterfications".

Thinking about the other movies and remembering the scan of JustNibblin''s, it's possible that Bender still stays involved with the alien's evil schemes in the next two. I could be just saying that, though the way that he's dressed looks as if the villians are rewarding him for his efforts. In the small panel of "Bender's Game", it looks like Fry, Leela, and the Professor want to get revenge on him for some reason. I have a sort-of reasonable idea that "A Beast with a Billion Backs" will be the movie to use the least amount of time travel (or none at all), and for the crew to use little time travel in "Bender's Game". However, I have some bizarre theory (that I've actually had for quite a while) that we will be going to the future of the present time (our future) in the fourth movie. This theory mainly came from the fourth movie's title "Into the Wild Green Yonder", because we do know that the time sphere that is tattooed onto Fry's butt is green, and we do expect a phenomenal conclusion to the movies with Ken Keeler writing.

Oh, to keep a bit more on topic, according to KurtPikachu on the latest Futurama comic, there was a mini-story in the comic revolving around Fry and Leela's (and Bender's, mind you) hybrid son. Now on the topic of comics, I should add that if you look on the cover of the upcoming comic (issue 33), Leela shoots Fry an angry stare as he stares up at Amy, impressed by the new
height she has taken on. Plus, the cover of the 34th issue looks somewhat shippy. I should post it somewhere (but it doesn't have a title released yet).

Okay, so by what Frida Waterfall is saying, what Bender does in the past does affect the relationship between Leela and Fry. This, I can live with. What I cannot live with is the fact that even after everything Fry does for Leela, she would go for someone else. That, to me, in unfathomable. That can only happen within the Professor's "What If" machine. Regardless, when are the release dates for this? If it hasn't been mentioned yet? If I'm too lazy to look?  smile

LEELA-BENDER ROMANCE!!

Bender: Fry's in trouble... And he needs help. Now, I don't like you and you don't like me.

Leela: I like you.

Bender: You do? Look, are you going to help or not?

Leela: I don't know why I should. I mean after what he--

Bender: Wait, wait, wait, wait... What is it you like best about me?

Amy: Is she coming?

Bender: I'm not sure. But I do know that she likes my in-your-face attitude.

Yeah well... something different. He also snapped her arse with a towel in The Why of Fry and she giggled.
