(The TARDIX wheezes into a very still corner)

(The Good Ol' Country Doctor hops out)

(He locks the TARDIX with his pipe-shaped sonic screwdriver, then turns around)

(He seemes rather more subdued than usual)

Hi yawl.

(Pulls out a slip of parchment)

Just been to visit my good ol' friend Xanfor... You may know 'im, used to post a wee bit 'round these parts. An' he's done asked me to bring you this here telegram.

He's also gone an' asked me to take his place postin' round here 'till he's up to feelin' better, what with me bein' his alter-ego an' all that. So don' be mindin' me too much. I'll just listen in a bit, shall I?

(He sits down in a rickety chair made of spindly wood next to his ship)

Xanfor, hope you get better soon.   smile

So, most of us think that Leela does love Fry, but when did she first fall in love?  Was it the first time they were truely together, or was it a slow thing, where she slowly fell in love without realizing?

A Thundercougarfalconbird, duh.

Interesting thought: One of the plethora of reasons Leela was so hesistant to accept her feelings for Fry is because he reminded her of Sean. This is also part of why she was so intent on pursuing succesful men, figuring that if a nobody hurt her so badly that somebodies would be better for her. Once she realizes somebodies can be assholes too, she starts really giving in to Fry (End of Why of Fry on) and I'm sort of rambling and I think I'll stop now.

I'd prefer me old blue box over 'ere. Compact, but roomy on the inside.  wink

Y'know, it's a doggone shame 'Futurama' only used that joke in the comics. The Matt-Man himself is s'pposed to be a big fan, so what's the deal?

Good point. Her description of Sean in TDHaIP seemed to indicate he was a carbon copy of Fry in all things but musical aptitude, so he might remind her of Sean. I never thought of it like that before.

I'd like to see Sean return in the future episodes. That would be interesting.

this is very far-fetched but remember leela's ring in space pilot 3000? anyone think it was an engagement ring to possibly.. sean? he cheated on her.. so yea

maybe i'm just reading too much into things.

Since when were engagement rings pinky rings? Not saying it couldn't happen in 1000 years' time, but from a writing point of view it would have to be on the ring finger to have any symbolic meaning to the present audience.

When you only have three fingers, which one is the ring finger is open to interpretation.

My wife, a vereran of the dating wars knows exactly why Leela had that ring on - it's a fake wedding band to keep the geeks away without having to fight them.

Good point. Or maybe people in the future don't wear wedding rings, because I'm pretty sure if anyone did, these creeps would, and they don't.

Was it just me, or did the guy in that picture keep shrinking from scene to scene...?

And I think there definitely needs to be a Sean episode in the future.  Maybe he was was of those plotlines the writers said they didn't have time to wrap up?

Sean is like Fry but Fry indicates in TDHAIP that Sean was more handsome then him because Fry called Sean a 'prettyboy'.

Fry's never met Sean. He was going on Leela's description of a hunched pasty slob and thought she was describing positive physical attributes, when her description was actually close to Fry's own appearence. That was the whole point of what we were saying earlier....

...Oh forget it...

I really don't like it when people idealize Fry sometimes. He has flaws, lots of them, and that's why we love him.

I could go on, but I'll just say "yes he is" and "yes he does."

Sorry im a few days behind with this reply...often like this in 'real life' anyway
Arguably the crucial first act of 'fondness' if not actual love could have been in the very first episode, where Leela is persuing fry and fry decides to give in and accept the career chip, at this point leela relents and discards the career chip, and says she is quitting her job , "because I always wanted to, I just never realised till I met you"

Cyclops feminist wonder,
Meets silly red hair dunder,
They’re so different,
Any relations are innocent,
Red hair doesn’t like it,
Cyclops can’t help it,
She’s been hurt oh so much,
So she always flinches from his touch,
Cause if a guy from high class is a berk,
How can red hair not be a jerk?
It’s all about the trust,
In a relationship it’s a must,
And if it isn’t there,
The relationship’s going nowhere.

He’s gotta show her,
How he feels inside,
He’s gotta be honest,
And not try to hide,
She knows she needs him,
But she won’t admit,
Slowly she’s drowning,
In a desperate pit.

He’s gotta be there,
To pull her out,
He’s gotta come running,
When he hears her shout.

It’s all about the trust,
In a relationship it’s a must,
And if it is there,
The relationship’s going somewhere.

She knows that he cares,
From the things that he says,
And so she’s be with him,
Till the end of her days!

Dance with me Deca, forget everything but the dance, the dance is everything!

Well the dance and Fry and Leela of course. If only Fry and Leela got entered into a Tango contest, that'd be good. Can you imagen the sparks that'd fly, the smooth seduction of the dance, the pure sexy movement as they tango together.

Not quite, it's just dancing. True a close contact tongo, but still only a dance. I only did it because it was funny at the time.

Besides, the Romanticorp couple believe in love and such. I however don't. I believe in love of the family kind, but I don't believe in the couply kind.
