Whoooooo! Sure, this wasn't a truly shippy episode. You can dismiss pics like that as coincidences, but on the other hand does anyone really think Leela would clutch her breast and gaze mournfully up at any other character in that way besides Fry? Going back to the one on page 5 of this thread when Fry grabs Leela's hand to stop her in front of the animatronic band in the deleted scene, sure it was a casual action and you can't read too much into it, but would Fry have grabbed the professor's hand or Zoidberg's claw or even Amy's hand when they weren't dating? No, he would grab them by the elbow or tap them on the shoulder (carapace, whatever). Touching someone's hand without them offering it to you is a rather intimate act in western society reserved for lovers or parents and children. Leela and Fry can be very comfortable in each other's presence and I think these vignettes are deliberate efforts to offer some subtle clues to their (dare I say?) destiny.

Ok, ok, so here's a story for yawl. I was writing the next chapter in my Anthology, right? And it involves the Countess returning, right? So I thinks, 'Hey, maybe I ought to watch 'Titanic' for reference, wot?' So I do so.
You thought I cried after watching 'Leela's Homeworld'.
It's gonna be awhile before I can write anything uplifting again.

Deca, you just reminded me of The Convergence of the Twain. My take on the movie: I was probably one of the... what, 5% of the younger population?... that went to see Titanic originally because I was excited to see the actual ship, not the love stuff. (I was eleven -- no, twelve -- at the time.) Since the time I was seven, I'd had an interest in its story and had been reading books and such. Of course, since I was twelve, right away I then picked up on the love story and all of that.... Uh... yeah. Kind of embarrassing.
But I still remember sitting in the theater and going "Cool!" when they showed the animation in the beginning. Stuff like that in documentaries still thrills me in a small way. And man, did I love the footage of the ship breaking in half, and basically everything about it sinking. I have a thing for disasters, apparently. But anyway. Back to AFTR. It, of course, turned out to be one of my favorite episodes. In fact, it was the last episode I taped the night before my DVDs came in the mail [last year] and I think the first ep I played from said DVDs.

Here ya' go Sedna... Actual ship there. One of the the best lookin' ever built, in my opinion. Except perhaps the original. As for the movie, I particularly loved the soundtrack. As for AFTR, I have a whole new appreciation for Bender.
