True he made a pass at her in FTR, but I didn't take it as that serious. Season 1 had several of the "Fry and Leela melt together and almost kiss until they're interrupted" moments, which i viewed as sort of a subconscious thing, as well as Fry liking to "hang out" with Leela in PYHOMS. I think it took until PL for Fry to really figure out how special Leela was to him.

And to make this even longer, TOTPD!

He did admit to having a crush on her earlier than PL, in War is in the H word.

Speaking of War is The H Word, in that episode Leela kinda showed she liked Fry by asking whether the girls he liked was Cyclops or Chinese.
In other words, it was like she wanted to know if he liked her or Amy.

I think that was more her being curious than liking Fry in return.

Whatever. Close enough.

But she was curious. And isnt that enough for anyone to get by?

The answer of course, is No.

Twilight is quite possibly the worst popular book ever written.

I certainly thought her reaction to Fry saying "cyclops" had at least a hint of mutual attaction in it. Leela's a master at the cold, dismissive tone of voice ("Perhaps. What's your point" in L&R -so cold, so very cold!), but there's nothing dismissive in her delivery of "Aw, she sounds sweet." She could have taken the opportunity to steer him away from cyclopses or just responded with an emotionless acknowledgement of his answer, but she served up a really sweet one there.

Well, well, well. Welcome, I mean. You're now a shipper as far as I'm concerned. Just one original point, that's all you need to make. And you've made one! I could stand to hug you!

I think anything Leela had built up was ripped down and blown up after TKOS. Also in the episode right after that she was pretty fluent when Fry asked her if he could do "anything" in the world.

I'd like to know what Leela really thought he was saying there......

Do you mean that any interest she had in Fry was destroyed after Time Slippin'? Also, are you refering to I Dated a Robot and a line about "anything"?  I'm not following you.

It was pretty funny how the people said that ape looked like Leela.

Lrr: Yes this is her. I recognise her sloping posture and hairy knuckles.

Sometimes the snow comes down in June.
Sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon.

I see the passion in your eyes, sometimes it's all a big surprise.

'Cause there was a time when all I did was wish,
you'd tell me this was love. It's not the way I'd hoped, or how I planned,
but somehow, it's enough.

And now we're standing face to face

Isn't this world a crazy place?
Just when I thought a chance had past, you go and save the best for last.

All of the nights you came to me, when some silly girl had set you free.

You wondered how you'd make it through, I wondered what was wrong with you.

'Cause how could you give your love to someone else, and share your dreams
with me?

Sometimes the very thing, you're looking for, is the one thing
you can't see.

But now we're standing face to face. Isn't this world a crazy place?
Just when I thought a chance had past, you go and save the best for last.

Sometimes the very thing, you're looking for, is the one thing, you can't see.

Sometimes the snow comes down in June.
Sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon.
Just when I thought a chance had past, you go and save the best for last.

You went and saved the best for last.

That's basically what it sums down to, yes.

Not to put any doubt on Xanfor's composing abilities, of course; I just thought this song was fairly well-known.

To be fair, I grew up listening to "easy 90s rock" as a kid, though, so this song's kind of embedded in my brain.  Cheers, mum.        roll eyes

Just so you know, I didn't steal that song. It's one of my favorites, so I thought it was fairly well known. I was going to write a fic using it, but I couldn't wait anymore.

And fryandlemon... What do you mean, most overused framegrab?  wink

Don't make me quote the Lyric's Fair Use By-Laws, Deca. I was merely using the song to melodize a series of framegrabs that otherwise would have had the same overall emotional effect and spectra of the silent version of 'Singing in the Rain'.

We need more areas of shipy discussion.
