No. Not at all.
Some of my memories are of music, so I'm safe.
Fry's memories would be of TV...there we go, it's okay if TV characters are the same as us.

Ok, let me try to do the holophoner... I'm only a beginner, but once I master it, my beautiful soul will be sitting naked on all your couches... especially yours, ColdAngel  :p heheheh.... You still have Ovidiu... [pointing at everyone] you all still have him!

It's a big task, I know. Don't be surprised if you can't make out a lot in the beginning. I'm still practising, the holophoner's bulb needs replacing, the clutch smokes and so on (it's a second hand). blah-blah-blah...

As for the name: well ...Geez I have the usual 9pm mental block  :) I know! This is great! How about 'The Shippers' ? Wasn't that brilliant?  :p

Shameless self-plug for a shippy fic I wrote.
It's only very short, a chain of thought from Leela's perspective, so those who avoid reading fic because of length might be interested. It's pretty good.

I just thought it was your little thing that you did. People can have quirks if they want...

I'm not sceptical of everything...realistic maybe...I'm happy to be open to things happening, such and Fry and Leela getting it on...and I like reading other perspectives, such as that Love languages thing...I find it interesting the perspectives people have and how they present them...but I keep in the middle of everything. That way I can never be proven wrong, because I sat on the fence. Also because "I have no strong feelings one way or the other."  :p Most of the time anyway.

We'll probably need some sort of costumes too, and no camo-gear I'm getting sick of this stuff. And we could nick an idea from Wayne's World Two and have two machine gun nests on stage, incase Coldy gets bored, like during the warm up acts, but we still don't have a name people! How about Shippy and the Peelers? Or sumit like that.

'The PEEL Town Shippers'
Coldy=spoons/drums
Me=vocals
Fenix=Lead/Bass guitar, also arranging pyrotenics
Sine Wave=Lead/Bass guitar, also sorting out synthesizers
Tasty=Keyboard
Fry_B=the holophoner (if it sounds bad we can always drown the sound out)
WU32= Wooden Holograms

Costumes, I think we should go with a futuristic style, after all, we are shipping a future couple.

Nonsense! One of my favorite bands has 17 people in it.

As for deep shippy discussion, I was watching an X-File last night, and at one point Cancer Man told Scully "You're attracted to powerful men, but fear their power. You build up walls around your feelings, that's why you're willing to die for Mulder, but not willing to love him."

Guess who I thought of?

I can think of 2 episodes where the cyclops fought or went into battle to protect Phillip, but none where she actually proved she was willing to die to save him.

She went against an army of Trisolians to save him! An army.

Yes, but she didn't think she'd die in the process.  It seems like Leela was very confident about going into the war in the first place.  I'd say jle1993's argument that she took the space bee honey to be with him is stronger.

And just got Deja vu.....

I forgot all about this one. But Leela was in a dream and was sort of surrendering to the desires of her subconscious, which would have been somewhat overwhelmed by her rationale should she have been awake .

Also, the idea "she may never awaken", rather than simply "she would die" may have led her on a bit.

Look mister *non-shippy*, Leela was in a coma sure, but i tell ya one thing, you can't lie about your feelings in a coma coz the whole things made of your subconscious. She was perfectly willing to give up what she thought was life in order to die/sleep forever, which if you look at it equate to the same thing, she didn't want to live without Fry, she was only happy when she was with him and she wouldn't give up on him. Take it how you will but I think it shows how much Leela loves Fry.

True, but she's the type to rationalize it away like Nautilus.  I can see it going either way for the next 15 episodes.  I read that they already wrote the last episode and are holding it pending a decision on which season will be the last, and I bet that final episode is where they'll have the two finally get together forever.

Yeah, i heard that too.  One where they wrapped up all the loose ends they didn't have time to wrap up the last time.  Though the only thing i can think of that they didn't quite wrap up was nibblers, 'other' comment about Leela...

Yes, that "other" reference kind of makes the Nibblonian/Brain struggle similar to the Star Wars saga, with Leia being the other jedi offspring waiting in the wings, but never called upon.

Thankfully that's not possible in the case of Fry and Leela.  Otherwise Leela would be indicated as a relative of Fry after he delt with the probulator.  Unless it can't recognize mutant DNA....

But even IF they were related (the writers would really have run out of ideas) there's still a 1000 year mixing difference in the genes.

I didn't mean to imply THAT, yuck!  But you know the writer either got the idea from there or that was discussed in the writers' room.

Back when I was young and carefree (don't laugh), and I was just beginning to treat my amygdala to the pleasure that was the Fry and Leela relationship, I got all depressed after watching Parasites Lost. So I came up with a whole story that explained how they were really brother and sister, and were seperated at birth by some temporal phenomena, thus, no relationship beetween the two was possible at all. For some reason, this satisfied me, which just goes to prove that you should never make a explaination of something you only see once a week on a black and white TV about half past two AM.

But hey, please don't bother thinking I'm crazy. It took me several episodes just to realize that Leela had one eye.

Leela would be happy  :p

And I thought Parasites Lost had a really nice ending.  It was my favorite shippy episode in fact.  Fry gave up the brains and brawn he was given for free to see if it was the real him Leela liked.

Unfortunately he did mess it up as the real him.  But though he tells Bender he's given up on her, the holophoner moment at the end was so sweet.  He was trying to earn what the worms had given him honestly.

It gave hope, rather than a depressing ending.  If you choose to look at it that way.

She would have thought he was desperate, or hallucinating. Besides, he couldn't bring himself to say 'I love you' before, and he had just experienced a huge drop in his level of confidence.

Because he was overwhelmed by feelings of hopelessness, depression, and pessimism i'd say

I don't think the next 16 or so episodes did much to get them closer either, unless you count the episode where their ages decreased but that was before Leela built that invisible cage around herself
