Fry as a scrawny weakling works best.  It's kinda hard to root for him if he's a buff dude.

Hmmmm.  Someone agreeing with me about Fry being skinny.  Fry should weigh under 100 pounds.   But he weighs more than Kiff and Farnsworth.   Besides, as much as I like him,  Fry just never struck as the hero type.  More like a 'bumbling-sidekick' type.

You're kidding, right? Fry is way too tall to weigh under 100 pounds. That would be absolutely ridiculous and completely unhealthy.

Buff Fry is weird, awkward, and despite having no real effect on his personality, it just makes him more unsympathetic. Even though he's special already with the delta brainwave and whatever, portraying him as a lazy slob really does bring him down to the average person's level more. It really adds to his charm and relatability.

It makes him more like the typical delivery boy I'm used to. Except UPS drivers, like the one portrayed by Phil on Mad TV.

Buff Fry IS weird.

I thought Fry was just supposed to be just the average 25 year-old delivery boy. Somehow a buff delivery boy doesn't work.... (Also I like Fry much better when he's normal and NOT buff).

I think the best look for Fry is an average "unhealthy" guy.  Not necessarily skinny, but no muscle tone and a little bit of a gut.  5ft10in and about 190lbs.  You have to remember he is extremly lazy.  Wait, are we talking about Fry or me?

Well if he was buff futurama would be a lot different and Leela would have done him by now. So ya skinny works best for Fry.

Fry being out of shape (not fat, not skinny, just out of shape) works far better. Also a lazy delivery boy who's IQ isn't quite up in numbers ends up saving the world just sounds more interesting then the usual buff guy fighting to the death with a villian. Fry can't do that so everything's more complicated and interesting.

If fry was buff he would be an arrogant asshole with a pea brain (instead of just pea brain), so you know where I stand.

Scrawny makes him what he is. He's a slacker. If he were buff, his level of intelligence would put him on par with a 'roid head. Not cool.

Nyaww. I like Fry the way he is. His softness matches his personality and just makes me want to give him a hug.

Okay, Fry can weigh just 110 or 120 pounds.   That's skinny for his height.  Just think he'd be better off and his character would work better if he were scrawny.  And Bender could rip on him about it.
