I'd have to disagree with you there- despite Bender's meanness, he and Fry clearly care about eachother a lot.

That was in Leela's dream. Not the real Bender saying that. Just dream Bender.
Although that, Bender and Fry are buddies. Hermes and Farnsworth, as seen in The Route to All Evil, seem to be friends. Leela and Bender/Fry also seem to be friends.

Fry, Bender and Leela are friends. That's all there is to it. Fry and Bender are buddies, and Fry and Leela are friends, and Bender's definitely grown to like Leela as well (remember "The Honking"?) The experience of being the core PE Ship crewmates has drawn them together as a trio as well. Bender is soooo friends with Fry and Leela - how many times has he saved their lives? Or gotten upset over their impending death? (Yeah, not in "Crustacean in Love," but that was still kind of early in the series - besides, I think if Bender had succeeded in getting Fry killed, after the money was gone he would have discovered a big hole in his life and regretted it). It doesn't mean Bender won't steal from them, take advantage of them, or whatever, but that's just Bender. The Bending Unit Visor was the point of view of a generic Bending Unit, not Bender specifically. No doubt that's how Bender saw Fry in the pilot, but two episodes later he was already fairly attached to Fry. And I think he definitely has a soft spot for Leela. Look how fast he broke up the autograph signing when Leela started to cry. Leela and Amy started out as barely tolerating each other, but by fourth season they seemed to be getting along much better, Leela even teaching Amy hand-to-hand combat and stuff. I think they qualify as friends, though not ultra-close friends. Amy and Fry are friends, don't forget - pretty good friends for ex's. Hermes and Farnsworth are friendly, if not bosom buddies. Hermes is on a "coworker" level with everyone else (except Zoidberg). In short, they act like any small office full of very different people, and Fry, Leela and Bender act like any team that's worked together in life-threatening circumstances for a long time.

yeah i think Hermes and Farnsworth are quite good friends.
Amy and Fry get on with each other quite well, for ex's,
And Fry and Leela....really, really tricky. It is completely and utterly 100% true that Leela DOES care about Fry, as is revealed in the Sting, she says (And i know this happened in the dream, but it was 'real' for her) 'The only time i'm ever happy is when i'm with you'. I think they just need to get to know each other better, and they would be great friends, and it's proven they can become good 'friends' (a la Parasites Lost)
On the other hand, sometimes Leela hates Fry's guts, and i can see why she would.
what can you do though? they're cartoon characters and we can't wish anything else upon them than what has already happened.
who knows how the friendships will unfold and develop in the movie....

Yes, yes, you nincompoops! As Professor Farnsworth knows, you all are probably right about all the crew's friendly relationships. Big whoop!
Farnsworth likes Cubert, his clone son. He appreciates Hermes, his bureaucrat. And Zoidberg is his oldest employee, which is probably why Zoidberg remains on staff, Hermes and logic notwithstanding.
Other than that, well, the Professor has interviewed and hired other Planet Express employees before. (Before our heroes returned in one piece, that is.)
That's all you need to know! Farnsworth rocks, in a very geological way. Now he's going up into the Angry Dome. All this foofaraw! Piffle! Mumble... Gurgle.... And don't make him get his What-If machine out! What? What Angry Dome? Eh...?
