His mom, when she's in the hospital after giving birth to him:

Frys dad: So what should we call him?
Frys mum: You pick, I chose dinner last night.

Tough question.  I personally like almost all of the characters from Fry's past...Yancy ranks high on likeability (well, once he grew up) and his parents are hilarious.  And of course, I have a soft spot for Seymour, if I may be permitted a shameless plug.

I guess I'll have to say, however, my favorite is...Mildred!  The 40's gal with spirit.  I'll bet she made a great grandmother, too - the kind who always had a mischievous twinkle in her eye.

I liked Seymour, Yancy, Fry's parents, and Noticiably F.A.T.!  I thought Panuchi was too domineering.

Probably Seymour or Yancy.

Does Nibbler count as a character from Fry's past? If so I'd say Nibbler.

seymour, the 80's guy, phillip j fry (the one yancy named after fry) and i know she wasnt i fry's past but i like hattie.
by the way, what does the j in phillip J fry stand for? It better not be like the simpsons where homers middle initial is J and his middle name is Jay.
