And yes,I agree that Leela's Parents, The Zookeeper, the Mayor, Yancy, and Professor Wornstrom are all "minor characters" not shown, but Kif is more of a major character as is Zapp and Scruffy. AND WHAT ABOUT THE ROBOT DEVIL! Though he is a "big" character and well-known, he was only in two episodes, two GREAT episodes.

I don't know if youv'e seen it but there's this hilarious deleted scene from A pharoah to remember, where Scruffy randomely walks in the room spinning a plate on his broom before the PE crew are about to leave and staring out into space with wide eyes as if hes possessed says "hold on there hotshot! When this plates a spinnin', folks start a grinnin'" Then the plate falls off his broom and breaks on the floor, so Scruffy, looking less possessed stares at it and says "Now you can go.". It's probably not as funny to read but it's really funny and random to watch.
