Which characters do you think could have had more lines, more episodes devoted to them and more over all screentime?

I think Hermes is among them. He is normally just there to say something witty once and a while and then disapears the whole episode. He did get one episode, but I don't think that he was used to the fullest. He had the capacity to become much more.

I also think this would encompass nibbler. Nibbler is very important plot-wise, but other then the first episode he was in, "I second that emotion", and "The day the earth stood stupid", he didn't really do much of anything except act really stupid. The Nibbloidian sub-plot could have been explored some what.

Zoidberg could be in this catogeory. An episode he has to himself could be described as a "Why Must I Be A Crustacean in Love?-tacular" or a steaming pile of "that's lobstertainment". If used correctly, he can be good, but if your over-exposed he could lose some of his character's "charm".

I guess this might be apply to Amy to some degree. An interesting back story, and defintatley had the capacity for being a main character maybe even be amongst the "big three" to make them the big four.

Kif's screentime in Futurama is criminal. He's more like a recurring extra. Hardly any backstory, and his role seems rather limited.

If only futurama could have had a course approaching that of "The simpsons". That's probably why the simpsons could support such a wide range of characters. 84 episodes seems like far to few to get to know them. Unless we get it from a new medium, such as a movie, we just have to live with their current state of devolpment.

Discuss.

A poll turned out that Peelers wanted more of Amy (Though it only got two pages far)

Chump tried nearly the same thread, though it only got 13 posts and forgotten 3 years ago.

I think there should have been more episodes involving the battle against Mom (or her love to the professor)

Anyone besides me think at times Bender was being cramed down our throats? Don't get me wrong, he is very funny, and important I guess, but his small emotional range makes him a  bit repetitive. Except it seemed like after "GodFellas" and higher, bender devoloped a conscience. I also think that it could be a continuity error since he's not supposed to have emotions. But then again, meeting god could do the trick.

I think it's mainly a joke that Bender doesn't have emotions. His eybrows move, and if he didn't have emotion, just about every bender-centric episode would be pointless.

I never felt like Bender was being crammed down my throat...

Although I like Amy, I don't think she should have gotten more screentime. I never found her that funny, but just an extra character to help add diversity to the PE crew.

I personally think that Hermes should have gotten more screen time, and possibly a little bit more of the mutants, personally i like the mutants they hve so much more to offer than the regular humans

I agree that Bender was almost crammed down our throats, especially in season 4.  Ironically, FOX made a good move in airing "Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV" late in McSeason 5, because I felt there was a lot of anti-Bender sentiment among the die-hards.

But for characters that had too little screentime...hmmm...I have to go with my favorite Zapp, although he did seem almost overused in early episodes.  It wouldn't have been that hard to include Amy in more deliveries, because she was pretty funny in her role in "The Series Has Landed."  Just to give her more one-liners or screentime, etc.  But, in canon, I'm surprised that Mom didn't get more face time.  After all, she is the tyranical industrial overlord of Earth.  She should be involved in a bit more something.

I think Nibbler should get a little more screen time! H egoes with Leela to work and he is the one that pushed Fry into the Freezer!

Zapp all the way. I'd rather see him be in a bunch of episodes like in season 2 rather than in 2 or 3 episodes like in seasons 3 and 4. Hermes could have used some more air time too.

I bet some were expecting me to say Roberto, but no, he was well used, he shouldn't be a regular character because he's so 1-d. He's uber awesome and all but I think he'd wear out his welcome if he appeared frequently.

I'd say the two Z's Zapp and Zoidy, Zoidberg was used well in the episodes he was in but he could have been a delivery person, he has a good childish feel to him.

@Cyberman: If Scruffy got more airtime, he would have been less funny, his funniness is the fact that he never shows emotion when he's seen.

* Amy & Kif. Everyone loves Kif, everyone loves Amy, they're cute together- win/win!

* Hermes. He hardly got to do anything!

* Zoidberg. Poverty-striken, friend-seeking, world's worst doctor, hideous sea monster- what part of that doesn't work for comedy?

* Robot Santa. Bwa ha ha.

Definately Mom. Also, Zapp and Kif.

There were 72 episodes ShortRoundMcfly, not 84. (Although I wish there was.)

So many Zoidberg avatars. I usually remember people from avatar, and it's getting kinda confusing, eh? No offense and sorry to get off topic a bit. And more Kif without Zapp would be good, or maybe Zapp being in at the end being like "Come on Kif, come back to Zapp," like Kif were a little dog.

Kif can really only show some emotional range when he's not just Zapp's second banana, but then he isn't as funny.

I think they all should have gotten less screen time!  Every last one of them... and add more screen time for cool sci fi gadgets and cool space scenery...
Heh, I just felt like saying that. I wasn't trying to make a point or anything, since that would require thinking and stuff.

I would have loved a few more Zapp-heavy episodes....I just think everything that he says is classic and hillarious.
More anthology of interest epidoes using stories on Hermes, Amy, Kif or Scruffy or something would have been awesome instead of having whole episodes devoted to them.
And more episodes with funny professor and zoidberg lines can only be a wonderful thing!!!

Though I like Zoidberg, I don't think he should have gotten more screentime. He's often funnier when he has a small role than when he has a large role.

there should be more episodes with the Zapper, Kif, Hermes and Santa.
