In I, Roommate they act like an antenna is a robot's..."manhood". But in Birdbot of Ice-katraz it looks like the robot equivalent of hair. What's the deal with that? Who would spray and style their privates like that? That's just sick, man.

It also flushes him, dispenses butter and beer, and . . . ok, that's all I can think of.

I wish mine was that versatile. It only dispenses two things.

Yeah, maybe its Benders...you know.

He calls it little Bender in "I, Roomate" and he says to Leela in the same episode: "I cant just cut it off. Youre not a robot or a man"

Hmmmm.....

Then "Hell is Other Robots" must have been extremly painfull to Bender. On top of the "Church of Robotology" he connects his antenna directly to the electricity of the sign. If the analogy from "I, Roommate" is true....ouch!  :(

And don't forget his experience in the "Cul-de-sac Nebula".

No, see he was jacking on. Electrocuting your unit isn't painful if you're a robot.

I think its his manhood.

In "I, Romate" the Robot-Policeman say "hah. You call that an antenna" when they finds it.

Funny it was the robot  :)

Precisely, remember, it's made of metal, it's not a human penis.

"It's just like making love, " and he goes on to talk about rotating, and so on...maybe thats how, like a catching game!  ;)

Hmm, if Benders "manhood" is his antenne explain the scene in "When Aliens Attacks" where they are making a remake of the series finale of "Single Female lawyer":

Fry : "´Cmaera one."
(Bender zooms out one of jhis eyes)
fry: "Cmaera two?"
(Bnder zooms out his second eye)
Fry: "Camewra three?"
(Bender makes a zoom-out sound, but we don't h get to see where it originates)

Edit: Damn, tyhats poor spelling, hick!! Yeah, it could originiate from his bodyt, but still....  :)

Well look at it like this:

"Man hoods" have a purpose to send out information (DNA, genes, ya know, sperm)
Antennas can share the same purpose, so, when you look at it like that...

Remember the Mother's Day episode? The antennae are for receiving her master control box's commands.

Okay, gotta revive this old thread. I just watched "Lesser of two Evils" yesterday. It made me wonder: if Benders antenna is the equal of his manhood, what is Freud gonna say about the fencing match he and Flexo had using their antennas?  :D

Now that it's been reactivated,  I feel I have to comment.  In certain cultures in the South Pacific, men decorate and stretch their penises as part of a courtship ritual.  Perhaps "robot culture" is so wildly different than Western culture, that we see it as strange, painful, and disgusting.

Or, perhaps, it's just symbolic of the robot's self-image with no sexual connotations whatsoever.

Bender was only built to produce unneeded static (technically refered to as multipath interference).  In this futuristic world apparently his antenna does more than that, IT prevents any reception at all.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE..I'm gonna get the manager.

This antenna can be used either as a sign of 'robothood' or just like a plain old antenna. It's kinda like the bump on Gumby's head. No one knows why you'll want it but its there all the same.

The peace officer might have referred it to Bender's manhood when he said, "You call THAT an antenna?"
