TOTPD!

I doubt Amy has the money-- her parents have all of it and want to keep it to themselves, I bet.  Maybe they give her an allowance, which she uses to pay the rent on her apartment, then the rest she spends on clothes.  I mean, she has about a million dresses.  I also doubt her parents are willing to contribute to the Planet Express, either.

I definitely believe Amy's parent's are keeping her money in a trust fund at least she graduates from college.  Also knowing how her parents until she becomes responsible and making grandchildren.  Really I like Amy as a character but if you were here parents would you be in a hurry to intrust her with the entire Wong family fortune or a least a large portion of it.

Amy just probably doesn't wanna spend millions of dollars because she's saving it to buy a new car or something else.Plus, her parents probably wouldn't even donate anything to the PE.

i think that Amy had a lot of her money stolen, then lost.  we all know how clumsy she is, so her parents don't trust her with money, and she would probally do something stupid wiht all that money so her parents keep it from her.

i think she cares for Planet Express.  She cried in Futurestock, when she learned she was fired and that it was going to be sold.  She said she didn't know what to do or where to go.  Of course, she changed her mind when she became richer for a brief second due to her shares.

She probably doesn't have any access to her parents money at all. Judging by how she had to sell her hair to buy a comb in the christmas episode.

She's not exactly on best terms with her parents all the time either. She might be too proud to hit them up for money.

Well, she is an intern, presumably an unpaid intern.  Farnsworth probably doesn't pay her anything for working at PE, so she probably doesn't have a whole lot of spending money.  Most of the fancy things we see her wear/have she probably got from her parents, before she went to college.

In 300 Big Boys she said "I'm slightly richer!", so she must at least have access to her parents' money. Besides, I would think that Leo and Inez would let her use their money hoping that it would help her buy a husband to father their grandchild.

i just saw Bender Gets Made on DVD and at the point where they get the bill, Hermes says, "nothing of us can afford this, especially not Dr. Zoidberg".

Another mistake, Amy sort of could.

Also, if Amy's parents are the ones who are rich, then I believe they've just paid her part of the meal.

Maybe she'd already used her allowances for that month on clothes.

True, but they weren't there, where they?

if you think about it, the futurstock ep. wouldn't make sense if amy bought back the company and it wouldn't be funny

Well, I'm assuming that Amy could've simply call her parents.  But then you could say her parents weren't home, they refused to pay, or even both Elzar and the police not even allowing Amy to use the phone.

Amy seems like the type to only go to her parents for help as a last ditch effort, since any 'rescuing' they would provide her might end up being used as a guilt trip about wanting grandchildren.

The explanaition for this is that the writers did not know how to include amys wealth in this scene.
Like in the episode in mars you see people going to university and so on while, the first one(I cant remember their names and my dvd's are upstairs) shows people having "carrer" chips inplanted into them.
Anyway about the thread again,in the valentine episode (the one when fry's head gets attached to amys body)Amy needed to get money of her parents to get the car she wanted so she therefore, wouldnt be able to pay the bill.

Frankly, she being a total moron, I think that Farnsworth could've tricked her out of a lot of cash, if he wanted to.

It's not uncommon for people from rich families to live fairly modestly getting some sort of allowance from or access to their parent's money without actually having control of it themselves, and therefore sometimes struggling when their aloowance runs low or they're too proud to ask for money.

That seems pretty likely for Amy.

Amy seems annoyed with her parents’ controlling attitudes of her life. She deliberately dresses in sluggish casual wear instead of fancy big brand luxurious clothes to piss her parents off.

To go beg her parents to save another’s company is the last thing on her mind. She probably doesn’t have access to such large amount of money to purchase a company, and just receives a monthly allowance for her student life’s needs.

After all her parents are still well and alive and are the ones controlling their company and she could have run out of her pocket money when the company was in trouble.
