"Shippiness" - Refers to the development of relationships on the show.
"Shipper" - A PEELer who enjoys the relationship storylines.

Im not sure whether comics are really allowed on PEEL but in Futurama comic#2 Fry mentioned he had a dog named Champ. Perhaps Fry may have owned another dog before Seymour, maybe?

That would explain his fondness for dogs. Did he ever mention any other pets?

Like many series`, many aspects of the show and the comics have little in relation... The show is the real story  ;)

I agree with Dave B. In Jurassic Bark he had indicated he had never trusted any dog before Seymour.

In regards to not cloning the dog , i think the writers did this to have a more touching end scene and avoid dealing with Seymour in future episodes like they "passes the buck" on kiff gets knocked up a notch.

I read that they are going to have another Seymour episode.  Does anyone know when this will be?  (Besides the obvious answer of 2008)  This by FAR was my favorite episode.  :p

Being a male, I still have to admit, the first time I saw Jurassic Bark, I cried at the end segment. The second time, I started to cry. And the third time, I got this tingling sensation in my whole body which indicated a sadness.
And the tendency of a dog to forget about its master is almost definitely a breed thing. Many dogs will wait years for their master to return. And when it comes to a dog, stupidity is not something you can apply. It's a DOG, it doesn't use reason or rationality.

I cried alot, maybe because ive been brought up with   dogs by my side. So when seeing this it makes me think what would happen if i had to make the decision to bring a dead dog back to my side after finding out it had a whole 12 years with out me aswell as imagining my dogs waiting for me for 12 years. Very sad

See, in addition to making me profoundly sad, the ending of Jurassic Bark also makes me angry. Maybe I'm just too sensitive, but I think that any writer has a certain responsibility to their characters, as well as to their audience.

Yes, Seymour is a made up character. But even so, he was arbitrarily given an unjust and undeserved fate by the writers, for no good reason, and I don't think that that's "fair." (Crazy as that might sound.)

It's interesting to me that this is the only instance (that I can think of) of Fry doing a truly unlikable thing. And, even if he is totally unaware of the heinousness of his actions, it still feels wrong to me for his character.

As a result, Jurassic Bark is probably my least favorite episode.

Also, it very nearly put my wife off of the show for good.  :p

I agree with the above, especially the it about Frys character. It nearly put me off too, it was the first episode i'd ever watched and it put me off. If it wasnt for the fact i watched an episode my mistke ( it was on TV at my uncle's in the background) then i probally would not have watched all the great episodes other then Jurassic Bark.

I hate jurrasic bark even though the luck of the fryrish makes me cry more. I always cry when fry reads 'named for his brother to carry on his spirit,' even though that's not sad it's happy crying  :p

I think it's good to do some sad/emotional eps and not all sci-fi happy ones

I agree with that, but I thought it just didn't live up to the other Futurama episodes.  I just thought it was rather boring.(that's not taking into account the emotional part)

Its not that I dont like it, its just it doesn't fit into Fry's character. But I do feel that in my Top 5   Luck of The Fryish would most definetly be #1

3)The Sting/Time Keeps A Slippin'/Jurassic Bark
4)The Sting/Time Keeps A Slippin'/Jurassic Bark
5)Time Keeps A Slippin'Leela's Homeworld

Avast! I've never had a sworn enemy before.

Of course, "bad" is a relative term. I'd still rather watch Jurassic Bark than not watch an episode of Futurama.  :p It's just pretty much at the bottom of the list for me....

I got that song that's sung by Connie Francis, I Will Wait For You. I think that's probably the main reason the end of that episode makes me shiver...that song is so melancholy...

I agree with the majority on this one, That was a very touching scene ment to display Seymore's loyalty towards the kid who saved his life. What made it more touching is how Fry assumed Seymore forgot and lived a full life with new owners. But the truth is Seymore spent the last ears of his life waiting for Fry.

I do not consider this stupid, In fact i thought it was pretty much spot on scene showing a dogs blind loyalty to its owner. My mum went to the USA for 2 months lasrt year and when she got home our dog was jumping all over her and slept in her bed for the next week because she (the dog) missed my mum. Also i moved out of home and i probally only go back once a month and when i do she (the dog) does the same thing, She gets excited and stays around me the whole time im there.

Is that stupid no its loyalty to its owner,The reason it means more in this episode is because Fry saved Seymores life, So Seymore used his life to wait for Fry to return.I just hope we see Seymore in the new season of Futurama and i think i read somewhere he will be in it.

I stumbled over this comic and figured this'd be as good a place as any to put it.

(Hover your cursor over the comic for the 4x07 relevance.  ;) )

Yeah, but they have too much emotional episodes. They aren't Futurama, they're a unoroginal soap opera. And as much I love 'em I wouldn't want to see more.Futurama has to be sci-fi.It's the law.

Although they are an integral part of Futurama, I dont like the overy emotional episodes. I mean, I nearly cried at the end of The Sting, and Jurassic Bark. I wont watch the latter if I can help it.
