Has anyone else ever concluded that they never got the Blue Saphires from Al Gore, after they'd solved the global warming problem? They got medals instead I know, but they didn't get the saphires?   mad

That's brilliant: an episode with global warming incontinuity, giant mirrors, Bender falling on his back, all modern robots being built by Farnsworth a mere 70 years ago and robots dancing to analogue tape, and you're worried about the sapphires! Hell, you should've won them!  big grin

Wernstrom demanded the sapphires as payment before he went into space, just as he did in ABPOG. This time, however, he kept his part of the deal because global warming was threatening to destroy the whole planet, not just New New York. Once his plan failed, he flew off to a space bazaar and fenced the sapphires before anyone could catch up with him.

Oh sure, blame the wizards...

I think it would either be Hedonism Bot's explanation (a pretty good one, IMO), or perhaps Gore never intended to pay... what a jerk(not a political statement, just a joke  tongue).  The magic/wizard answer (though almost making sense here) is just an excuse for not thinking. C'mon people, you can do better than that.
