Discovered this after my overabundant DVD watching...
In Mother's Day, after the robots rebel, you see a shot of Morbo and Linda being mugged by their own cameras, on a street in NNY. Previously, in the episode, they're giving a live newscast on Radical 2 news....a show that Linda had said was filmed in LA.

Good eye there. Maybe they teleported to LA? It's the future... Oh well.

Well, a trip to the Moon takes 3 seconds, so going from LA to New New York for a on-location report would only take a few micro-seconds. FART travelled the opposite direction in 2 seconds.

Move along, nothing strange to see here.

Perhaps they were fleeing the carnage of an even more devastated LA.

Either that or when they heard about the garbage ball they moved to LA, then when the crisis was over they moved back to NNYC.
