Is it just me or is Lady Liberty holding a gun in the Futurama opening scenes?

(Thanks to Thomas (not a member yet))

Later on, it looks like she's holding part of the NNY tube system. See the "F-Men" pic in the 2002 calendar...

*sigh* or maybe it's just a silly little gag to make people chuckle that really means nothing at all.  Sometimes I think you people forget that you're watching Futurama...

As you can probably tell, this page pisses me off.

And he frequents this board, so leave it out, eh?

And in any case, you did say you freeze frames the opening sequence to decipher the alien languages, so you're not entirely blameless.   ;)

i hate pages with "techinical goofs." those just piss me off.

"hey! fry has his jacket in one hand when he was walking, then the next shot it was in the other hand!  i now officially hate futurama and will vow to ruin it for the other fans too!"

gimme a brake

1.  I didn't "bad-mouth" anyone, I just had an opinion on a single page, I think the rest of the site is great - maybe I came off rude, for that I'm sorry.
2.  When I freeze-frame alien language sittings, I'm taking them for what they are - hidden gags, I don't take them to the literal extremes.  "Hey that sign says 'Tasty Human Burgers', I guess the makers of Futurama must eat human by-products."
3.  Agrees with Bovinatron 100%.

I've remembered visiting that page. The goofs section does look kind of dorky. I am reminded of the Tiny Toons Halloween special where Gogo Dodo  was spooked by a comic-book-guy lookalike: "In scene C232, Pepe Le Pew's Tail was clearly to his right.." or something like that. Gogo runs away. "Come back! I got Willow on tape!"

This is somewhat off-topic, but what does the three or four words of alien language say on the sign during the opening scene? I paused it on my TV, but I couldn't make out all of the letters.

I never noticed Lady Liberty holding a weapon... I'll have to check that out next time I watch it.

And now you bumped it again. With something that's not even related to Futurama.

At least Gwan's question related to the overall topic of the thread "Opening scenes".
