Can anyone place the music that plays when the Globetrotters come out of their flying saucer? I know I've heard it before...Pod People maybe? Possibly Cave Dwellers. For some reason it brings back some MST3K memories, but I don't feel like searching my old tapes. Where the hell's that music from?

Funny, I though it was a remix of the Globetrotter's theme.

Which is, BTW, an instrumental version of "Sweet Georgia Brown".

Hmmm...yeah maybe. But I know I've heard almost exactly the same music in some cheesy old movie. It frustrates me that I can't remember which one.

Haven't seen a lot of the Comedy Central MST movies, but I doubt it's Pod People.  I've watched that tape three billion times and LMAO every time.  The only real music I remember was the New Age stuff and the part where Trumpy was moving everything around the room.

And now for no apparent reason, Pod People quotes:
----------
"Trumpy, you can do magic things!"
"Good?  He's the best."
"It stinks."
----------
Maybe I'll post the parody song of "Hear the Engines Roar" later.  S'much better than that stupid one in the movie.  :p

That would be cool, but maybe you should start a new thread in the off-topic section for that.

You're right though, it's not Pod People...I watched it a few nights ago and I didn't hear the music anywhere.

And that later is now.  So delete, modify, or remove this post if you find it off-topic, which it is.  But I'm still posting it!

IDIOT CONTROL
Episode: 303- Pod People

(editors note: This transcription appears to be a best-effort. What you heard--and let's face it, most of it was doggerel--may vary.)

[SOL]
Joel: Alright, alright, let's do it again. You come in late, girls, again, and you're out! Alright. From the top. (Music starts, singing):

With a pickle mine
We kicked the nipple beer
Steady as we go
We're flying over trout
Gatto down the highway
At the speed of light
All I wanna feel now
Is the wind in my eyes
Sack of monkeys in my pocket
My sister's ready to go!

All: (Gypsy repeatredly comes in late)

Hear the engines roll now.
Idiot control now.
Hideous control now.
Needy on the road now.
Needy in control,
Wheels on fire,
Burning rubber tires!

[Deep 13]
Dr. F (at recording console): He's pretty good!
Frank: Good? He's the best!

[SOL]
All:
Near each other rolls now.
He really likes to go now.
Needy inches bow down.
Pity and a po boys!
Here the engine roar
Bees on pie
Burning rubber tires!

[Deep 13]
Dr. F (to Joel): Great! Pretty good! What do you think?

[SOL]
Joel (giving 'OK' sign): It STINKS!

MST3K, I wish I could've seen all the episodes.   :(

There was an MST3K referrence in Raging Bender right (plus 2 in the Simpsons, but now i'm waaaaay off topic).

Anyhoo the music could be from any generic sci-fi movie Mr. Greoning has seen, if any.  Sorry but I never heard it anywhere before.
