It just hit me a little while ago that bender has about 4 or 5 personalities.

Regular
P.E Ship
FemBot
King (Thanks Kryten)
Patriot
Penguin

Also a few sketchy ones...
Possibly his personality before he gets zapped by the light bulb in the first episode
His Folk singer traits
The emotion chip

Was this going to be brought up in a future episode? Or is it mentioned in the commentaries or something like that? I think its a bit weird, and i'm pretty sure it was intentional...

Anyway, what do you think?

Cheers

Is the penguin from the Birdbot ep....? Haven't seen that but anyway I don't know the reason they gave him different emptions, just to make him more funny/varied I reckon....

It's funny when a character acts or says something unexpected, (like the king trait)
that was hilarious the first time I saw it cos he goes right back to his normal self anyway (I say, get the hell off me!)  :laff:

Bender is hilarious in his own, unpredictable way.

If Bender has human and penguin settings, doesn't it stand to reason he has other animals as well?

Hmmm... that gives me an idea for a fanfic I'll probably never write...

Remember when Bender thought he was human in "The Day The Earth Stood Stupid"?

What about his two internet costumes in "A Bicyclops Built For Two"? Naughty Nurse and Napoleon, I believe.

Don't you mean Napoleon playing a banjo?
Edit: No wait, I see how that works now...

I don't think they're all that weird, and are just different aspects of Bender's personality in the first place... Like the King and how Bender believes he is supreme...  Also the patriot and penguin is built in, not necessarily subject as different personalities.

Well, there's about 4 seconds of R2D2-personality in Birdbot of Ice-Catraz (3ACV05), if we're counting that...?

Don't forget Werecar in The Honking, which is simultaneously a physical change AND a personality change.

Also, check out Dan Vebber's list of Bender's reset modes in the DVD commentary for The Birdbot Of Ice-Catraz...although you might not wanna take that too seriously...  ;)
