Did anyone notice that the obsolete robot; Sinclair looked very similar to the robot out of the old Sci-fi movie 'Forbidden Planet'?  :)

After watching my Season 4 DVD's today, in production order, a thought crossed my mind. Why does Bender go looking for a plug socket on the island? When in 'Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV', we find that he's got a plug socket in his ass. And you can't say because he'd ran out of power, because later in the ep he still had the power to play a CD...

I reckon its so they could fit in the "turn around" line when he tries to plug into the warthog thing.

You can power a CD player for a good amount of time with a pair of double A batteries... can you run a blender with that? Obviously, the blender would require too much power for Bender to run it with his own power socket.  Besides, I would think that the power usage for playing a CD would be almost the same as the power needed for talking, the only extra being for the actual spinning and reading of the disc, so saying that he had enough power to run the blender because he had enough to play a CD just doesn't make sense.

i know it was all in benders head in all, but when the ship fell on his crewmates, shouldn't they have been injured? The wing itself was probably pretty heavy, not to mention the whole weight of the ship was leaning on it,so shouldn't they have all been horribly crushed? Instead of standing up like everything was fine?

Eh, I think that was just "Cartoon logic" like when Fry got shot out of the tube in "SP 3000" and wasn't really hurt.

Bender was fed some liquid when the low tech bots found him, probably some fermented fruit juice or tubers. Enough alchohol to bring him out of sobreity and perhaps power his CD player.

As for the crushing, though the angle was odd, remember that Zoidberg's under there too. His chiteanous shell could bear the weight just enough to keep the rest pinned down but otherwise alive.

Of course, all this is just an "implanted experience", so it doesn't have to make logical sense.

Well, he did run out of power. Try taking a look at the animatic for the episode.

Still had the power to play a CD though...

And about above, yeah I guess a blender would require more power than a CD player. But surely he'd still have had enough for it to work just for a few seconds.

A few seconds, yes, but then he would've been completely drained, and be forced to shut down. Better try something else.

Well, the obsolete robots also gave him coconut liqueur when they found him which would have given him the opportunity to refuel before playing his CD.

He used his hands as a whisk, would they not be powerful enough to at least pulp it?

Well he should have just looked for some more of that, so he'd have enough power for the blender...

Why would he need the blender then, if he's getting his power from the coconut liqueur by that point?
