It's simple, the misspelling fishful, means it is a parralel universe. Multiply Fry's IQ by how many errors there are in Futurama add X, and these things are bound to happen. X being a wizard.

Life would be so predictable without wizards!  She was putting on a red dress, so in a boring world, it would STAY red!  But thanks to the wizard, it's black!  Yay!  No boring episode for us!

I was confused by that also.  Was there some clothing color changes in Kung Pow?

In Kung Pow because of the age of the film (the guy just inserted himself into an older movie and change dialouge) there was some flickering in the color. at one poit one character was saying "watch my magic trick" his cloths would flicker and he would say "bang! my cloths are red" and this happened 4 or 5 times through out the film.
