In The Farnsworth Parabox, when Leela is guarding the box, she is reading a magazine.  The cover story is "Bigfoot Turns 80!"  I thought this was interesting considering the recent episode involved Bigfoot so much.

yes, but remember, it was the nosy enquirer which ran that story, so most people probably disregarded it as hoax.
the cover story probably was a hoax too, because in the photo, bigfoot is really old, but in spanish fry, he seems younger.

Maybe it's Bigfoot's grandson.

Nah, Atticus has it right.  The National Enquirer (tabloid sold in the US today) is virtually 100% fiction and everyone knows it.  It probably has had a "Bigfoot Turns 80!" headline.  Or three  :)

I suspect you're upset at Atticus not me, but since I was in the line of fire I feel some response is in order.

Although revealing that BF makes an appearance in Spanish Fry is technically a "spoiler" in that it communicates information you would not know except by watching the episode, I can't see how, in this particular case, it would damage your viewing enjoyment once you finally get to see it.  This is sci-fi, anything is likely to turn up now and then.  Why would BF be such a surprise?  Yes, Atticus should have hidden it, but he didn't do much damage.  Oh oh, by saying that, I have communicated even more information.  Now I'm guilty too!  ;)

That said, it's good standard practice to hide spoilers.  Atticus, if you use the "Reply" link instead of quick-post, you get an enhanced posting window with a palette of smilies etc to the right.  One of those is "spoiler".  I will here attempt to use it for my first time:

There, that was easy.  Hard to remember to do it, though.

Whoa, I'm sorry about that Xmpel, I guess I didn't consider the bigfoot thing much of a spoiler because it didn't exactly contribute to the overall story in either episode that I mentioned.
Thank you for the pointer, Vintage Dave.  It's always nice to recieve help from a fellow PEELer instead of being flamed for a little mistake.

I live in Australia and so haven't yet seen Spanish Fry or The Farnsworth Parabox, but I don't think  anything on this page is really spoiler-worthy (though it doesn't hurt to use spoiler tags when talking about recent episodes).

Anyway, you can use spoiler tags with quick reply:
Replace ()with []
(spoiler)your text(/spoiler)

Welcome, guy.  Except for brief, germane digressions, going off-topic is frowned upon.  Try using the board's search facility.  I bet there are several threads devoted to alien languages.  Once you've read them, if you didn't find out what you want to know, post your question there.  Another good alien language resource is CGEF (Can't Get Enough Futurama), www.gotfuturama.com  .  Along with discussion, you'll find coder-decoders there.

Back to bigfoot now.

I don't think so.  but you're right, it IS weekly world news that owns Bat Boy.  Did you know that there is a Bat Boy Musical?
Oh yes... http://www.batboy-themusical.com/

Weekly World News is the BEST kind of fake news there is. I'm trying to convert my mom from stuff like the Enquirer and Globe to WWN...

I try to hide those bullshit magazines so she won't read them, then offer my latest aqquired WWN issue for her to read. It hasn't worked that well, though.
