When Leela decided she must go back into the sewers to find out who the hooded mutants were she jumped from the ladder backwards and into the radioactive sludge it looked like the scene in which Ripley jumped into the molten lead.

I didn't think of that before, but come to think of it, I guess it does  :)

Hmmmmmmmmm. It's almost like a pattern is developing, as if Futurama is purposly referencing OTHER science fiction!

Well, it wouldn't be the first Alien reference.
(The Sting, Roswell that ends well...)

The most intresting refrence ever. By the way, Gocad, at what part was there a refrence to Alien in "Roswell That Ends Well"? Just wondering.

I'll try to upload a page with grabs from Aliens and Roswell that ends well.

(If Netfirms lets me do that)
EDIT:

Thanks Gocad. I never knew there was a refrence to "Aliens" from "Roswell That Ends Well" until now. Thanks again.

That's the one! I've always wondered where I've seen that scene before. Thanks Gocad.

Although it could also be a reference to "Independence Day".

Another Alien reference is in "Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch." Leela sleeping with Nibbler reminded me of Ripley hibernating with her cat.

The scene in ID is somehow similar, but the reason why I think that the scene in RTES is a reference to Aliens is the fact that Zoidberg does exactly the same as the Facehugger. They both lick off the glass pane. Not mention that Zoidberg's tongue looks similar to the one of the Facehugger..

Apparently there is another reference to the Alien films in the Futurama game. I've seen a framegrad in a magazine showing Bender in a bio-mechanical style room with a large dead creature in a seat in the middle of the room. This is a parody of the spaceship the the crew investigate at the begining of the first Alien film.

I've always thought a shot of Bender (with the Countess in tow) hanging onto the escape pod in "A Flight to Remember" reminded me of the scene in Alien when the creature hangs off the engine of the shuttle or whatever that Ripley escapes in near the end of the movie. I know I don't have any shots of the scene from Alien, but here's a frame grab of the scene with Bender:

Let's not forget "Why Must I Be A Crustacean In Love?" Edna kisses Fry and when Zoidberg walks in he claims he can See Edna's cavier all over Fry's face, cavier equalling fish eggs well I think we got ourselves an alien sex scene (and inter race too! Shock, horror and beastality abound!) guess that really is how they reproduce, wow, the 'Featuring Gratuitous Alien Nudity' tag wasn't just a joke
