'why of fry' other comment did anyone hear it?

I heard it. Nibbler had some sort of tone in his voice that stood out when he said it. Every time I watch my tape I can't miss that part, and I always wonder exactly what does it mean?

I didn't see the ep, but I think it's LEELA.  It's gotta be!  The writers are very clever, this may be setting up for something.

The neat thing about it is that they can either pass it off as a "Star Wars" parody, or followed it up if they ever got the chance to make further eps. Now watch in fear as I get disproved by the final 7!

I got confused too, but i think they're talking about "the other", the one we assume is Leela (when he's under the table with Fry).

He could mean the other as in Leela saves Earth from the brains the first time, or as in she and Fry are meant to be together. I've never been too clear on that.

i think leela is "the other" 'cause she is the one that saves Frys life in just about every episode so that he could destroy that giant information thing, she just doesnt know it.

Actually it is quite clear, that Leela is "the other", because when Fry mentions Leela, Nibbler says something like, "..then she must be the other." Also, why else would Nibbler give Fry the flower?

My guess would be that part of this 'other' thing will come out in Idle Hands.
One thing that has always stuck out in my mind about this episode is when Fry tells Nibbler that if he ever needs him to save the Universe again all he has to do is ask. To which Nibbler replies - oh, we will. Certainly if the show had lived on we would have seen more of the whole Fry/Nibbler storyline but maybe there are clues left in the episodes that might have been avenues to explore.
One such idea is possibly a rogue Nibblonian or perhaps a Brain Spawn sabotaging the mission of Nibbler. Since there was that crux at the time of Fry's freezing the Brain Spawn too would have had the ability to send an agent back to that exact time and try and stop Fry from coming to the future.
What do I base some of this on? Jurassic Bark of course. In the replay scene we do see the shadow of Fry but we also see another eye stalk in the trash can next to the desk that is not addressed in the Why of Fry. I do not think it is Nibbler in the trash can but perhaps the rogue or Brain Spawn agent sent back to sabatoge the mission. From the time Fry walked into the cryogenics lab to the time he fell into the chamber Nibbler is seen only from under the table and nowhere else. So that leaves open the possiblity of some other being in the trash can that we see in Jurassic Bark as Fry passes the trash can on his way to sitting at the desk starting him on his fateful journey.
Maybe this has already been discussed here and if so if somebody could point me in the direction of that thread I would be interested in reading that.

Most likely fry and leela will get together in the last episode, its just been a build up anyone can see that.

BTW - something great that never made it into the script was two Nibblonians operating a robotic Fry, so as not to alert the PE crew to his absence.  The only thing this Robotic Fry would say is "Yes" "No" and "Let's go bowling", as that's all they'd recorded him saying.  So the PE crew would end up going bowling every night.  And somehow the Robotic Fry would start a fight with the mayor's aide using only these few phrases.  But, they ran out of time and didn't use it.

I always thought that in the future, the nibblonians would require the assisstance of a half-mutant, half-self-grandfather.  Nibbler knew this, that's why he tried to get Fry and Leela together.  But that's just my opinion.

Fry is obviously the Nibblonian's God, so I think that Leela is the Nibblonian's Goddess. Because, they would have to be pretty satsfied to take Leela to their homeworld, let alone talk to her.

I think you're right, I've wondered for a while what was it that didn't made the puzzle complete. Not everything was explained in the why of fry.
I only got more questions!

I wonder what that eye in the trash was... And I want to know what Nibbler ment by THE OTHER!
I think that the universe isn't safe yet, that there is still some kind of enormous danger out there and that they will need the strenght of Leela AND Fry to defeat this danger.

Damn, if they don't play those last few episodes, I'll blow up the FOX-network, I think some of you will agree with me.

What is Leela and fries Offspring are the first of the nibblonian empire and get thrown back in time 17 years before the big bang. Gross but possible.
