I've just seen the Season 3 Set Trailer. What Alien Language was used at the end?
It would be nice to know which AL it is, since you get the translation as well. (Own the 3rd Season on DVD and Video)
I just aks because I know it wasn't AL1 and haven't seen the complete trasnlation for AL2 yet.

If you can post a framegrab of it I'm sure someone will know.

the stuff at the end says
"Own Season3 on DVD and video" and it is in AL2.
the stuff at the start before the countdown is in AL1-
"Picture Start"

There is some before that in what appears to be a mock up of the Rough Draft logo

100 pts. [AdAM]! Your House will be proud. If you only had one...  :p

Also, I wonder, what they offer Zapp so that he would do the trailer?

What I don't get is if you look at the S2 box in that shot, it doesn't look like any side of my S2 box.

These are the VHS boxes. Their design differs from the DVD ones, since they have different dimensions.

I'll assume you have the DVDs, CyberKnight.

Actually the season 2 box looks exactly like one of the sides on my DVD plastic cover (with Zoidy and a brain-slugged Hermes on the other side).

Then again, the card-board box inside the sleeve doesn't look like any of mine. If that's was what you were refering to CK, I agree.

Thanks Gocad, I do have the DVDs.

Actually, I was talking about the interior shot, Teral - it looks like the Nimbus is on it, and it's not on either of the sides of the DVD box.

The overall design is the same, but there are differences. Just look at the Season 3 Box that is shown in the trailer. Leela, Fry and Bender have their "own" Side on this box.

That could be why we're getting conflicting designs for the box on the S3 thread.

I think that was a Harry Potter reference, i.e Gryffindor House, Ravenclaw House, Slytherin House, and there's one other House I'm missing I think. I haven't actually read any of the books.

The other house is Hufflepuff. As to not reading the books, you're not missing out on anything exceptional. They're not bad, but they're not great -- they are to fantasy writing what the Hardy Boys novels are to the detective story.

Also, the "Your house would be proud" thing could also be in reference Klingons from Star Trek, since their primary familial unit is the House -- House of Duras, etc. Dune uses Houses, too, and I'm sure a myriad of other systems that I don't know about use House as well.

I couldn't stand to read Dune. Looking up words in a glossary every ten seconds is not my opinion of pleasure reading.

No question, but who else would support such a thread? Nobody that's who!  :p

And to all the mods out there:
no this thread isn't going off-topic.  :D

Awww, I enjoyed the vocabulary created for those books! Words in use in a sci-fi without any explanation are fine, especially when Dune seems to written as a sort of history. Histories don't necessarily define everything for you, they expect you to have some knowledge that you bring with you; that quality makes the books seem a little more "real" to me.

Actually, I read the books without ever really using the glossary, most stuff is pretty self-explanatory. "Kwisatz Haderach" did give me trouble for a while. Same with "Gom-jabbar."
