According to "Raging Bender", Bender weighs 525 pounds, I don't know if that's a joke about how professional wrestling weights are imbellished (The Rock being announced at 275 pounds for example) or if Bender is actually supposed to weigh that much.

It's quite possible that he weighs that much, or at least close to it. After all, he's made of metal.

Well, he's made of metal so he probably weighs a lot, and this thread should probably be in the Re-Check/Weird Scenes forum.

hey, i have like 3 posts, not too familiar with the board.

Also, Bender is hollow on the inside, or at least in his torso and head which is like 3/4 of his body, so that's part of why i was questioning it.

But he is light enough to be dragged around by Fry when necessary (Hell is Other Robots, various others.)

Yeah, but if Fry can shovel dark matter into the engine, he should be able to drag a 525-pound robot around. Obviously, he turns super-strong whenever he's angry^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hit's useful to the plot.

And let's not debate about Leela's superhuman strength.

His weight varies depending on what he has stolen recently.

If this belongs anywhere it is in weird scenes as Kristi said.

In "A Pharaoh to remember" the professor states that Bender is made of Iron-Osmium Alloy with a %0.04 Nickel impurity (not to mention dolomite, zinc, titanium, etc.. as the professor stated/states in previous/future episodes).

As some people may know Osmium is a transition metal element and is used to produce "alloys of extreme hardness", and is also the densest metal known, with a brick sized chunk of osmium weighing about 56 pounds. considering that, i think that 525 pounds sounds about right when it comes to benders weight  ;) Osmium seems to be the correct metal to use too, as bending girders etc, requires the use of an extremely tough metal.

Andy's right in a way, summarizing all episodes, bender consists to 220% of various metals. This seems to be necessary to make light enough to get dragged around, heavy enough to crush things, fexible enough to get flattened and deformed, sturdy enough to get hit by a huge girder without a dent, and so on.
Maybe he can change his weight and other characteristic, by will, or maybe subconcious.

220%? u know something that the rest of us don't?
40% titanium 30% iron, 40% dolomite, 40% zinc and 0.04% nickel
thats 150.04%

Well, "Bender's made of an  Iron-Osmium Alloy with a %0.04 Nickel impurity" ´should be 100%, 'cause otherwise our soo-wise prof would mention the other ingredients too. Then there is the 40% titanium, 40% dolomite and 40% zinc which adds up to 220%, but to my shame I have to confess I do not recall the 30% iron you mention.

In 'A Flight to Remember', Leela says that the escape pod is two tonnes overweight with Bender and Countess and with Bender weighing in at 525 pounds then the countess weighs in at about 1 and 3/4 tonnes, which is incredibly heavy even for a robot. Just thought i'd mention it.

The escape pod was two metric tons overweight. I imagine that a metric ton is somewhat lighter than a regular ton.

A metric ton equals 1000 kg. Metric simply implies it's part of the international meassurement system (the system civilised nations use  :p)

Why wouldn't the Countess weigh 1700 kg? Afterall she did go through the floor of the Titanic, she obviously weighs alot.

ok, now this is coming out of no where but, i think that he would weigh about 623 lbs, simply an estimate considering what he NORMALLY holds in his torso.......

does anyone even care about how much he weighs?........... seriously, the only other cartoon that even dealt with weight was Homer Simpson, so who the hell cares how much a cartoon robot weighs??? (even though Bender is the greatest cartoon robot, other then Flexo  :D )
