I was watching "Fear of a Bot Planet" on DVD yesterday and when the nerdy robot alerts the guards they say something to the affect of "Intruder!" and "Catch the Humanoid!" well in my younger days I played a video game where two guards say the exact same thing in the exact old-school computer voice. I can't remember the name. Can anyone think of it? Also I feel there have been many other video game references that I'm missing. Post any of them you've seen and I'll keep looking.

Umm, an entire third of "Anthology of Interest II" could certainly be counted.  I think they said what that was from in the audio commentaries.  I can't remember it though, and unfortunetly, I don't have the time to check right now. Someone else do it for me. :P

There's the video game sequence at the start of "A Bicyclops built for 2", features donkey kong and a "platformer" sequence.

Thank you Helpy McHelphelp.  I just got back now, and you've saved me the trouble of having to look it up for OCJ.

Also you missed one in Fear of a Bot Planet, when Fry and leela frist enter the Robot city looking for Bender, they ask the Contruction worker robot a question, but befor they do, he is telling his buddy where to drop pices of blocks down the side of 2 buldings, then he gets distracted by Leela and Fry and the other guy drops a long stright piece in gap and clears the line. A Reference to tetris!  :)

I did notice the Tetris reference but it was so much more obvious than the Berzerk one which just puzzled me at first.

No one mentioned the game Fry is playing in the pizza parlor in the pilot...after all it's the start of the whole series.

There are doubtless hundreds more minor little references.  Zoidberg's name is actually a reference to a game David Cohen worked on in his college years called "Zoid".  Oh, and Welcome to PEEL El Chupanibre.

P.S.  You can edit your posts.  It's considered bad form to post twice in a row.

Edit:  LOL!  El Chupinibre's avatar changed from Slurms McKenzie to the Robot Preacher in between my posting and I thought someone had slipped 2 posts in while I was typing for like 20 seconds. :P

Hmm, I figured those robots and those lines were a reference to the Daleks from the old Doctor Who stuff.

I'm new, too.

This is pretty obvious, but also at the beginning of "Bicyclops Built for Two," the entire look of the videogame part (and the whole net) is reminiscent of the fluorescent stylings in Tron.

p.s. I love my avatar.

I thought part of it was also based on Donkey Kong? Maybe I'm wrong. My avatar fits me perfectly as well.

No, you're perfectly right. I just didn't include that becuase I think someone referenced it up above in a earlier post.

The very beginning of the videogame part referenced side-scrolling platformers in general.
