Bullit Reference in "Bendin in the wind"

Well.. i dont know if this was spoted before , so if it was please forgive me..

I have noticed that the VW vs jetbus chase in "Bendin in the wind" is a clear reference to the declared as best car chase in cinema history in the movie "Bullit" where Stephe McQueen in his Ford Mustang GT-390 chased Bill Hickman`s Dodge Charger R/T for the streets of San Francisco.. in the movie there is a "goof" well known, the pass the same green VW Bettle 4 times..
in the chase on "Bendin in the Wind" they pass or cross a green VW Bettle (3000year verison of course) many times too..

The shoot in "Bullit"  , notice the green VW Bettle in the left of screen (notice also the Ford Mustang behind the Charger in the bullit shoot)


they even take the same turn in the two "universes"

I can almost hear David X talking about "we didn't think anybody would see the reference, but of course there was this one fan"... in the season 3 commentary.

I remember they talked about ANSTATMAW ship plans on the commentaries before, do they look at PEEL???

I just happened to have seen that bit of the film at the same time as seeing that episode!

Don't they also have that Chineese Dragon or something or am i making that up?

Nope..no dragons in Bullit.... that can perfectly be a reference to another movie ...

It's in San Francisco. What did you expect? Also listen to the music during the chase sequence...

I never noticed that reference before, but that might have something to do with the fact that I've never seen 'Bullit'  But well spotted, cool
