Well the entire concept of what I'm about to say is maybe impossible to comprehend/ explain but I'll have a go. When fry goes back in time to stop nibbler he eventually doesn't and blows himself in. Therefore When we see fry fall in to the freezer and see nibblers shadow there should be frys shadow as well because even though in the original time frame he didn't push himself in, he went back in time and did push himself in, therefore changing the past, something which should appear in the orignal episode. If this makes no sense then sorry, but I know what I mean =]

I know what you mean and the reason is what you have already stated, that the original first time frame before Fry came to the future to go back to the past to initially stopp nibbler was shown initially in the first episode and then the change was made when Fry reached The Why Of Fry episode in time... so it does make sense.
