Originally posted by CyberKnight: As for DS9, I don't know why, but I'm not too keen on it. I recognise it's a great show and it deserves better than to be ignored, but there's just something about it which I can't pin down which I don't like as much as I did about Voyager's early years. It's probably due to a hard-core set of DS9 fans who go around saying DS9 is the best Trek series ever (without the IMO quantifier ) The truth doesn't need a qualifier. Anyway, not to drift off-topic, I'll bump the Star Trek thread tomorrow and state why I think V'Ger is substandard ST. As for your theory: Not bad, I can definetely see a lot of it happen, and it would be kinda fitting for the show to come full circle like that. As for Fry's dilemma, and the outcome: that's just sickingly cute. I'm sure it would make the shippers happy.

I hate doing these, but just so no one will complain, I have to ask you CyberKnight, why in the world would Nibbler have Past Fry help him? You can see Nibbler's and what must be future Fry's shadows under the desk in "Jurassic Bark." It seems pretty obvious that Past Fry gets frozen just as is shown in SP3000. Anyway, what if past Fry DID see the Brain and Nibbler and everyone, then why did he act like he had no clue what was going on when he first woke up in the future? For any sort of cohesiveness to the plot, I think we need to assume that past Fry never learns anything of the future until he experiences it as he lives through it. The 3rd part of AOIone has some new meaning now, because instead of the universe being destroyed beause something that should have happened didn't, (a reason that doesn't make much phsyical sense, considering that if that is a paralell universe, it's supposed to have different things happen) the universe gets destroyed by the brains because Fry wasn't around to stop them. Very cool that the F. Team actually thought this far ahead from the very beginning. One thing I'd like to question though, is why does Fry go to the cryogenics lab at all, if Nibbler (or Fry, as in some ideas) wasn't there to prank call him?

That's not technically the case. They seem to be following the ripple theory of time travel, in that events must proceed through the original time-line before they can be altered - this is why we don't see Fry's shadow in "SP3K". So it's entirely possible for Past Fry to have some recollection of the past. However, thinking about it, it's probable that it is indeed Future Fry who remains outside the tube, but it just seemed too predictable for that to be the case - everyone ASSUMES that the shadow in "Jurassic Bark" is the current Fry, so it would be a neat twist if in fact it was Past Fry. There's little way to tell them apart, and Future Fry may have just be re-tracing the events to allow the enemy to appear without getting suspicious. As for AOI1, that clearly doesn't follow the ripple effect (the universe shouldn't be destroyed until the year 3000 or so), so that kind of ruins the whole thing. It is kind of neat they planned this all out. EDIT: And I was totally wrong. Dang. Needless to say, I would have written the episode differently (but where's the suprise in that )?. Pretty good episode though.

I don't have AOI1 available to check, but was Nibbler at the scene when Fry wanted to see what would have happened had he not been frozen?
I would think that if he had been there, His Nibs might have become agitated that the scene might have exposed his presence, or that there had been more than random chance involved.
And then he'd have to do something drastic to divert everybody's attention - like drop a massive steamer....

Nibbler isn't present in AOI I, and I did notice that on the first viewing (I made a post about this issue back then, just too lazy to do a search for it).

So why was Nibbler in the trash can in Jurassic Bark and under the desk in TWoF?

Nope, the spoiler isn't true. The only deleted scene in TWOF is: Fry and Bender is walking along the street, Fry is feeling down. Fry: "We could go sing karaoke." Bender: "Oh lord no! But this is your night, my friend. So if there's anything in the whole world you wanna do, just say the word." Fry: "You wanna see a movie?" (Bender look up the street, see a large car coming, as it passes them he grab unto it. While his arm extends, he looks at Fry and...) Bender: "Let me think about it..." (He's pulled along, Fry is dejected)

Well, she was sent in TDTESS to warn "The one", thats probably her role in the whole story - to warn "the one". Or maybe "the other" is just "the one"'s girlfriend, or wife, or whatever.
