Nope, wrong. This is from the S2 DVD Boxset:

As you can see, he is 3,277 years old, so he was born in 1276 BC.

It's probably due to a hard-core set of DS9 fans who go around saying DS9 is the best Trek series ever (without the IMO quantifier   ;))

The truth doesn't need a qualifier.  :p

Anyway, not to drift off-topic, I'll bump the Star Trek thread tomorrow and state why I think V'Ger is substandard ST.

As for your theory: Not bad, I can definetely see a lot of it happen, and it would be kinda fitting for the show to come full circle like that.

As for Fry's dilemma, and the outcome: that's just sickingly cute. I'm sure it would make the shippers happy.

EDIT: And I was totally wrong. Dang. Needless to say, I would have written the episode differently (but where's the suprise in that  ;))?. Pretty good episode though.

I don't have AOI1 available to check, but was Nibbler at the scene when Fry wanted to see what would have happened had he not been frozen?

I would think that if he had been there, His Nibs might have become agitated that the scene might have exposed his presence, or that there had been more than random chance involved.

And then he'd have to do something drastic to divert everybody's attention - like drop a massive steamer....

Actually, only the Professor was there in AOI1  ;). But I think Nibbler wasn't present in the alternate reality either. Besides, it's such a quick flashby nobody would have noticed it (and the crew themselves wouldn't know the difference anyway).

Nibbler isn't present in AOI I, and I did notice that on the first viewing (I made a post about this issue back then, just too lazy to do a search for it).

Well, not really. We still don't know his real age. I doubt it's nor 5 or 3277 years. It's probably more like ... 42!  :evillaugh:

Missed this. The Nibblonian race has been about since 18 years before the big bang, but as Nibbler said 'Our race lives long', but i doubt that Nibbler has lived since the start of the Nibblonian race.

So why was Nibbler in the trash can in Jurassic Bark and under the desk in TWoF?

I believe that it would have been another Nibblonian. As Nibbler clearly left his ship on Earth, he would have to have had transport porvided to Vergon 6.

Explained. Thank me, mortals.

I don't have the patience to read through the whole thread right now, but my ideas are usually pretty unique so I doubt I'll repeat anything said here.  Here goes:

I think there really is an I. C. Weiner.  I'm serious.  It's the sort of thing they might reveal in a movie when and if they get around to it.  That would be the truest irony.  Perhaps he's the guy who was supposed to get stuffed in that empty cryotube but never did.  I think if he ever met Fry he would be very angry that he missed out on his chance to see the future and didn't even get his pizza.

I know Nibbler made the call to Panucci's  but even Nibbler might have been manipulated by forces yet greater than he, like destiny for instance.

I doubt I am crazy, and I don't think anyone has ever said that but for you just now.  I'm glad you were amused but I did qualify my statement by saying that even a lot of idle speculation is productive in lieu of real answers.  Anyway, how about I let you get the last word in and then we stop arguing, okay?  Fair?

Use the SPOILER and /SPOILER tags (within square brackets, of course):

e.g. {SPOILER}A Spoiler{/SPOILER}

Question to those who have the season 4 DVD:  Are there any deleted scenes for "The Why in Fry"?  I heard a rumor that there is a delete scene involving Leela as "the other".

Is what on the spoiler true?  Is this really from a deleted scene on the DVD? If it is please anybody confirm this.  If there are deleted scenes in The Why In Fry, can somebody please let me know of them, the same way from TDHAIPT?  Thank you.

Well, she was sent in TDTESS to warn "The one", thats probably her role in the whole story - to warn "the one". Or maybe "the other" is just "the one"'s girlfriend, or wife, or whatever.

I believe the "other" reference was referring to a relationship between Leela and Fry.
The reason for my thinking this is when Fry tells Nibbler Leela does think much of him, Nibbler says don't give up and he will do what we can. So what does Nibbler do in a thousand years lets himself become Leela's cute little pet. This is not just to watch Fry, because if this was the plan he would have become Fry's pet somehow. I think he became Leela pet to help breakdown some of those emotional barriers she has by being cute. Leela is a lot more open with her feels around/with Nibbler. Even though Nibbloians don't like being considered cute. Also in the episode the WOF Nibbler gives Fry a flower to give Leela to help out as well.
