i think the 3D episode of simpsons was written by david cohen
so that would explain the p=np

oh and mouse on venus, i admitted to not being botherd so why point it out, its clever to understand it, but i get that its funny now to put them in folders, but its not that clever or original, its a bit like the lrr the omicronian saying neither will we provide you for our recipie for immortality, its a similar style of joke on a diffrent scale that the future understands things we dont.

or maybe its just the professor that figured it out but never botherd to bring it to the world, he forgot about it as he was more concerned with working on the finglonger,

theres really not much else you can discuss on the joke

Well, to address your first point, your original words were...

I pointed out your lack of commitment to the joke because it seemed strange that a person who so openly "couldn't be bothered" to understand it could so easily dismiss it as not being that clever or original and whatnot.

Also, would you mind telling me how the immortality joke is similar to the P/NP joke in other ways, or is the "future understands things we don't" the only one you can come up with? Because besides that, I don't see the jokes as being that similar.

Now, here's a question. At DTU's Department of Chemistry everybody seems to knows about Schrödinger and his poor cat, but I wonder: Beside chemists and physicists, how many people actually get this joke?[/QUOTE]

Norwegian people!
There is a norwegian television show acctually called Schrødinger's Cat, about quantum physics and such...
Hurray for Norway who got the joke!

As for the education of the writers, in the Season 2 DVD the commentary mentions how most of the writers went to Harvard.

My question is how did they go from having master degrees in Math to writing scripts for cartoons? I thought ppl who like math are complete freaks with no sense of humor. Or maybe that's just my experience.

These sites are not reserved for English speaking people only (is it?). So learn to speak German or French or even Swedish, before you utter another flagrant remark about the rape of the english language! If you know German, French and Swedish already, well done! Blast-fax cudos all around to those of you who do not have English as your first language!
