I'm gonna check the DVD tomorrow, see what it says.

Maybe they cut it cause JFK Jr. died.

Good point. I thought something sounded weird about that.

Welcome to PEEL, monkeydance!!!

Yeah, I heard about that. They changed it from "JFK Jr. Airport" to "Radio City Mutant Hall" a few years ago. It was the first in the original showing, but after JFK Jr. died (in an aircrash, btw), they changed it out of tact for the family.

And the re-dubbing was pretty bad.

It used to be JFK junior airport (they mentioned that they changed it in the dvd), but as people guessed they changed it out of respect of his death.

What the S1 DVD? I have that and it says nothing about them changing it...

They mention it in the commentaries:

David Cohen: "It actually aired once with that guy saying he wanted to go to JFK Junior airport, and then there was the trajedy with JFK Junior and the planecrash so we decided that, because it both making him and an airport, we should change it."

There we go, plain english  ;)

I think he was saying that because he died in a planecrash, they shouldn't have an airport named after him (too ironic and dark)

Sky's original broadcast of the pilot (September 1999) still had the JFK Jr. line in it, but the VHS and DVD releases all use the new line.

The Simpsons did something similar one time, when they showed Homer's Oscar... he had actually stolen the one that Hang S. Ngor won for The Killing Fields. Shortly after that, Dr. Ngor was murdered, and in subsequent airings, the text on the Oscar was edited to read "Don Ameche".
