I'm working on this video for Futurama.

I want to start it up with the HD Opening. But I want to add my own caption, so I need to look for an opening that does not have any captions.

Does it even exist? If it does not, please let me know.

Thanks, Dom.

The closest thing I can think of that is, for some reason, when Comedy Central used to air "I, Roommate" (which is only the SD opening, of course) they used to remove the "As Seen on TV" caption from it for whatever reason. But, now that they run the standard syndication version I'm not sure if that would still apply.

The only other option I can think of would be to find a version where the caption isn't too intrusive and just paste over it. If you put it on a black box or something (I think some of the actual captions do stuff like that), it may not be noticeable.

I don't think it exists, but it wouldn't be too hard to replicate. The effect is imitated with text other than "Futurama" in some cases; such as "Past-o-rama" in "The Lesser of Two Evils".

EDIT: No wait, it does exist!

You're watching Futurama: the show that does not advocate the cool crime of robbery.

My season 1 DVD has it without a caption. I had no idea there was even one originally.

Wow, that's...weird. What region is your copy from?

Mine didn't have it either (region 2 DVD), but it feels like I have seen "As seen on TV" caption before.

I believe the original region 4 DVD release of the first season had an episode that was missing its opening captions for unknown reasons. I wanna say "I, Roommate" or "Hell is Other Robots," but I'd have to double-check.

I was looking for the New HD Opening with no caption. But I'll just try and use DotheBartman's method.

There's also a caption-less opening in "Bender Should Not Be Allowed On Television" when the kids talk about robbing Bender, and we then hear the robot state that the show is 'against the cool crime of robbery' (or something to that effect).

Go to Youtube and type in Futurama Into the Wild Green Yonder and look for a 5 minute video on a channel called foxabulous. Near the end is a CLEAN HD intro (only up to the ship going in the letters, after that you need the real intro) hope that helps :)
