Ok, So I'm pretty sure that I remember a scene in one of the earlier Futurama episodes where Fry grabbed the hand/head of a Tralfamadorian and shook it.  I just rewatched the first two seasons and couldn't find the scene.  Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Doesn't seem familiar... According to Google, they're like little green stick thingies with a hand for a head? And one eye?

That's what you get when  Kif, a mutant and a tree decide to make a baby together.

I do not wish to know what kind of fanart will be spawned by that post.... *shudder*

But to get serious:
The scene neither sounds familiar, nor did Google search deliver any appropriate results. Considering Futurama's rather nerdy and nitpicky fandom, such a scene would have shown up in some "collected gimmicks" list.

They're creatures from Kurt Vonnegut's works. One version of them are like plungers with hands on top, with one eye in the middle of the palm; the other, no one is quite sure what they look like because they got themselves willingly euthanized by their own machines.

I can only recall one Vonnegut reference in Futurama, ever, and it wasn't them.

What reference was that, Xanny? Now I'm curious.

BTW I found someone's depictions of what those look like. Doesn't seem familiar:

There's at least one Far Side comic featuring aliens that have hand-like heads and get shaken by ignorant peoples.

Vonnegut, chop chop, righty-ho!

Might have to squint to see it, mind you...

Yes.  I clearly remember that one, but had no idea that it was based on a Vonnegut story.
