How do you suppose the water people reproduce? Is it like mitosis or something else? It's very hot today and I am stuck inside watching DVDs in front of my fan. :laff:

Hmmm, maybe the female drinks the male and then pee's him out, but in doing so some traces of reproductive jelly are left behind in them, or something...

They do seem to have men and women (Fry was asked to choose a consort.), so there's probably more to it than mitosis.  Maybe they mix together in a big bowl or something.  I don't know.

Maybe the male and female fuse together in one big watery blob, from which the two parents and a child emerge? That is the best idea I can come up with.

That's what I was thinking, but they'd do that in a bowl or other container.

I agree with this. That seems like the most logical way.

You have seen too much internet. Or not enough. I'm not sure how it works with you people.

Sorry...the heat's affecting me and I got water on the brain.

Their properties are very interesting. They can crash into doors and dissipate in a giant puddle, or they can hold objects like a chair or fan. It reminds me of the versatility like you see in silly putty, where you can stretch and break the same piece. This is what got me to thinking of how they'd reproduce.

They seem to have internal organs or at least something, since they have eyes, noses mouths and presumably the brains to make those body parts work.
I mean there are male and female Blobs, so.. yeah.   They probably have internal anatomy that we can't see.   We have seen that there are males and females, so they probably breed in some weird goopy non meat sort of way.

A valid thought. Perhaps their various organs are made of transparent membranes and go undetected to the naked eye, or to the human eye - maybe their eyes are rather different from human eyes. Actually, they most likely are. Or they develop temporary pseudo-organs for reproductive purpose during a mating season.

I'm sure the Trisolians would be just as confused trying to figure out how the "solids" would reproduce.

I wonder how they prevent STD's?...

Monogamy works pretty well.

After all, they are not "water", but their bodies seem to be composed of a fluid that is extremely close to water/is composed of a great deal of water.   Their bodies seem to be highly durable (being able to reconfigure after being kicked into multiple droplets, and resisting the acids in the human stomach).  As Navi says when we encounter Morpha in the Water Temple: "Hey! Listen!  Link!  That's not regular water, yo!  Watch out dat sh*t!"
