Professor killing Hitler in 'The Late Philip J. Fry' is kind of pointless, because the second time they go through all of time again Professor tries to kill him for a second time (but misses and hits Eleanor Roosevelt), meaning the first time he killed him had no purpose, so what's the point if he's going to come back in one of the other universe re-laps?  :hmpf: Sure Professor stopped WWII in just one of the re-laps, but in all the others Hitler is still gonna kill all those Jews...

And I thought if you mess with History it affects the Future, why no affect just because the Universe has reset?  :hmpf: It still happened, but just kind of a long time ago. So Hitler should have remained dead.  :hmpf: So should Eleanor.

Killing Hitler isn't pointless because it was neither their intention to travel a second time through time nor shooting the wrong person in the second run.
You're right that the Professor's point was preventing WW2 and the mass Jew murdering, that's sure.
Hmm, that's a very interesting point if all that happens again in the third universe.

The Professor intended for there to be only one more re-lap with the machine, which is why he tried again when they had to go around the second time. As for why he wanted to kill Hitler in the first place... Well, to tell the truth, Hitler was sort of a jerky person.

Yes exactly, so the whole Universe restarts again at their second run, including Hitler.

The scene where Hitler says "Betrrrachten Sie meinen Schnurrrbart!" made me (for real) ROFLOL three times. :laff:
And yep, Hitler is definitely a jerky person. What he did is the biggest shit ever, but when i see him i've got to laugh because he looks ridiculous with his mustache.

That's my point. Even if the Professor didn't make the universe re-lap again, it's pointless killing him, because it's gonna reset in the end anyway.  :hmpf:

The only way to prevent people from ever dying is to kill everybody once and for all.

I don't suggest you try this. You'll get some bad publicity if you fail.

Millions rather than thousands. Hard to say if Germany would have just found another Leader that would have done the same thing. His political point of view was by no means held by just a few and not just in Germany.

Yup, read this once in a German comic:
"Der Führer war ein armes Schwein, denn er hatte keinen Führerschein".
Translation:
"The leader was a poor sod because he had no driving license".

In the first picture you see just Hitler drawn in a way that makes you already LOL, and in the second him sitting in his limousine driven by a chauffeur.

Ofc its the old paradox, but I'm sure the prof knew he couldn't actually kill Hitler (even the first time, really), or he'd never have stopped to think about doing it in the first place :P

No. In fact, it is actually impossible to do so.

Killing Hitler still could have affected the immediate Future....you know, maybe Leela doesn't exist or something in the year 3000 because of it.  Also, there was enough anger against the Jews that simply killing Hitler does not guarantee no WWII and/or the Holocaust.  Himmler might have taken over instead...and maybe he takes over the world because his mind does not drift to insanity...or something like that.

So there is a chance the Professor not only changed their future, but could have made it worse as well.

However, this is a comedy show so I know we should not be thinking more than "go Professor, kill Hitler!"

Sure killing Hitler would have a very big influence on the future.

You're right; it was just for comedic reasons, but anyways, it was very funny.

Simple answer? Who wouldn't kill Hitler given the chance, if for no other reason than to feel good while pulling the trigger.

Better yet, kill Karl Marx. No communism and Hitler would have never come to power without being able to play of them as a threat. Two birds with one stone.

Is that a public stone or a privately-owned stone, comrade?

I don't know if anyone deserves to be killed, and I don't think that should be for any of us to decide, either. Certainly, someone's death might be necessary for the protection of others, but that doesn't mean that person's actions personally merit it. Making such a judgment would be inevitably tinted with revenge, and the issue becomes particularly unjustifiable when other viable solutions are available.

Xanfor, if it wasn't for the fact laws are in place that would put me in prison, there is about 25 people I can think of right off the bat I would walk up to and put in the ground. But then again, I have no soul. :D

What about Stalin then?  Surely Stalin is worse than Hitler.  And surely there are more that 'deserve' to be killed.

And I am still right about it being trope.  When people is asked what they would do if they had a time machine.  They always answer to kill Hitler first.  You know it is true.

There is a difference between being successful and trying.

Even if you killed Hitler there are other who would have filled his shoes. If he hadn't been rejected from art school, he might actually had been in the history books of a completely different nature...mind boggling really.
