AL2 in this episode reads, Iron Cook (no surprizes).

AL1 on the building at the begining of segment 2 reads: Used human probes

Helmut Sparkle reminded me a lot of Yoda from star wars at times.

The train going to the prism is a play on a Pink Floyd alubum.

Wrath-of-Conrail is from a different Star Trek movie, the Wrath of Khan.

The order of lockers in the locker room changes at random from episode to episode

Bender used Motron's Salt (real brand is Morton's Salt)

Why did the crew attempt to escape to the ship by walking towards Bender instead of walking the opposite direction, directly towards the ship?

Actually, it's the album cover for a Pink Floyd album (I think).

Pink Floyd, dark side of the moon. The ending music is "sunshine of your love" by cream, a good old piece of drugged-up hippie music.

edit: reminds me, the music in AOI 1 when the 500ft Bender is rocketing through space is "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath.

Also we get onscreen confirmation of Zoidy's first name from the "confession" note which reads:

Fry
Confesses

From the desk of
Dr. John Zoidberg

Yeah I think I remember that Pink Floyd album with the prism on the cover.  I guess I got confused because I have seen the cover to the star trek movie recently, and it had a rainbow on the cover.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the rats coming out of Bender's cooking hat at the end of act 1 should have been owls, no?

Ew!! Of course not! Nobody eats owls! They're vermin! Rats, on the other hand, provide a tasty garnish when squeezed.  big grin

Also used in The Simpsons episode "Mother Simpson".

What did the other two train carriages say on them?

Hey I noticed something else. The locker order. From right to left: Prof., Bender, Fry, Leela and Amy. But in 3ACV21 (the episode before this one, if in correct order), "Future Stock", there were empty lockers inbetween and Leela and Hermes' lockers were next to each other's and Amy's was at the end. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?

There are rats in Futurama, owls are just the predominate form of vermin.  In "I second that emotion" Bender puts out rat poison to kill those pesky rats.

Notice what Bender cooked for everyone; the items are actually quite appropriate.  Amy is cute, so she gets a pony; Hermes is a beaurocrat and gets a brain; Fry gets charred ribs (why?); Leela has one eye so her meal involves eyeballs; the professor is old and has failing organs so he got cooked organs.

Well, the prism and Light Rail was definitely a reference to The Darkside Of The Moon, but it didn't really look like it.  For one thing it was upside-down.  The prism was way to small as well.  It would have been funnier if it looked just like the album cover, but I don't think that would have worked for the train.

Bender is 30% iron, huh?

According to "A head In The Polls" he is 40% titanium, and according to "Fry And The Slurm Factory" he is 40% zink.

Somebody needs to brush up on their math.

Sorry, if it's been brought up before, I've just seen the episode for the first time.

Actually I think he says he's 30% zinc. let me check...

No, I was wrong. He says he's 40% in both instances. They should make that into a joke.

Everything Bender has cooked has been disgusting...The fact the Nibbler ate it before the rest of the PE crew doesn't necessarily make it any less disgusting...IMHO.

In the future they might have changed it so things add up to 126.34% or something?

He is made from an ion osmium alloy.
That basically means he is made up out of diffrent kinds of ions.
Some iron ions some titanium ions and of course zinc ions
This means that he's probably got some diffrent chargers
A few +1 +2 and maybe even +3.

Now if you chart the materials by their charge you can get those percentage readings next to each other wihtout problems.

Also, if you don't know, Conrail was an old railroad cargo company in the U.S. Thus, when the space railways were built, they came back - the Wrath of Conrail.

My theory on Bender's body composition, the complete BS edition:

As we know, Bender's chest cavity is highly versitile, changing whenever the situation warrents.  Obviously, it is some sort of dimensional doorway, much along the lines of a bag of holding, for those of you familiar with the AD&D item.  Thus, it is not out of the realm of possibility that this extra 10% exists outside of our dimension.

Also, regarding Bender's ever-changing capabilities and composition: He is, in fact, composed of a colony of nanites capable of generating whatever he needs for any situation.
