Hey guys!
Okay, I have a question about Bender's Big Score.
I was watching it on Comedy Central the other night, and there was a joke I didn't understand...
The scene I'm referring to, is when Nudar and his brothers are disappointed about Fry using the time sphere to go back in time (because they didn't get to kill Fry). And the naked brothers are wondering where Fry went.
So, Bender tells them where Fry went, to the 20th Century. Nudar says something like: "How do you know that?" Bender: "Cause that's where he always goes."
What did Bender mean by that answer? I mean, of course, Fry's present would be the year 2000 and the 20th Century. But to me, if Fry "always" went there, the line seems to imply something else, like a different meaning. I don't know why, but the way Bender said that line confused me. ^^;

Ah, now I get it! Heh, I was wondering why Bender would be saying that, cause it didn't make any sense. But anyway, yeah, I know what you mean. I guess throw-away jokes aren't really supposed to make sense. They're just for laughs. XD Oh yeah, when I first heard the, "Yeah, I get that a lot" Fry line from TWGY, I realized it was a reference to "The Why of Fry" right away. But I didn't realize Bender's Big Score had a similar joke like that. Wow, that's awesome! And by the way, thanks for the reply, Futurama_Freak1!

Its referring to "The Why of Fry"
While he's not the only one who went, Fry also returned to the 20th century in Roswell that Ends Well.

Bender said "The year 2000" not the 20th century.
Don't ever doubt me again.

They're both Futurama quotes chained in a way I thought worked but I guess I was wrong.

Its referring to "The Why of Fry" which doesn't make sense as bender had no part of it. It was more of a throw away joke, the same as Fry's line in ITWGY that "Yeah I get that alot" to being the most important person in the universe despite having his mind blanked after being told so.
Fry didn't usually get his mind blanked. i.e. (forgot name of ep) the one were fry wrote the book to get rid of the brain, his mind wasn't, but no one believed them.

Yes, but in that episode he never encountered nibbler. true, but i would guess that, even if he tried, nibbler couldn't blank fry's mind. (due to the delta brain wave lacking) (just an assumtion)

Yay, my thread hasn't died yet!! xD fryrocks: Oh yeah, you're right! In a way, Bender's line sort of has a double meaning. It could mean that Fry always talks about the 20th Century, or it could be a throw-away line, like Futurama Freak said. Heh, that's pretty cool. oh, yeah. thanks. its been a while. lol. like havent seen that ep since adult swim.
Wow, really? =o You need to watch that episode again! "The Why of Fry" is so awesome! I love that episode!
