I think it was a conscious decision on the part of the writers to disregard the peripheral feministas at that point. The only ones they needed for the final scene were Amy, Leela, and LaBarbara; wasting story time explaining what happened to the others just seems silly to me. I'm not so sure about them getting shot, though. I mean, wasn't Linda one of the forgotten feministas? Killing her off, even ambiguously and off-screen, would be a dumb move. Honestly, I think it's just one of those contrivances that we're not supposed to think too hard about ('course, this is PEEL ). Edit: Suss's and soylentOrange's theories are good, too.

Nonsense. Glasses are like guns, there's no such thing as too big.

I mean in general. For certain things small size is good but for others you want something rediculously huge. Attacking Sevastopol for example.

Thread necromancy...HOORAY!! There was one thing about that scene that bothers me: In the beginning, the feministas were a group a ennerving, but rather harmless goodminds. It was Leela's doing that turned them into a group of wanted terrorists, being sentenced to a life behind bars. (50 years...yep, that's it with your lives) Yet, in that scene it was only the fanatical ones (Leela, Amy, Labarbara) getting away, but those who were "dragged along" stayed behind, their chance of a normal life gone. Regarding the "Carry the consequences of your actions" aspect in fiction, a certain "fairness/justice" is very important for me. So that was one scene that -though it didn't ruin ITGWY for me- ranks still among my favorite "inacceptable Futurama scenes". (Not that I did care very much about those feministas...that group just didn't do it for me)
