Wacky What If Theory

while watching anthology 1 again, just after bender dies, i remembered that he dies in anthology 2, aswell. then i noticed he dies in the impulsive leela bit, gets sucked into nothingness in "what if i never fell in the freezer-jiggy", and turned into a toad in the last bit of AOI2. (though that one didnt really count, due to it not being a whatif machine sim) is there a pattern here?

Oh yeah, definite pattern emerging. I think all the "Anthology" eps might have at least one "Good Night Sweet Prince Bender" conclusion and one "Leela Goes B****zilla" extravaganza. Tough to peg the Fry pattern, but both times he screws up majorum--still, losing against the Nintendians wasn't nearly as catastrophic in the end as destroying the TSC. Dur.

Fry's what ifs usually involve something extreamly geeky, the Nerds from AO1 and the whole 80's video game thing.

Doesn't Fry end up destroying the Earth. I mean , AOI1 is obvious, AOI2 if the cape shrinks then the are wiped out, what do you think?

Hey, he died in the comics #7 too. We'll have to see whether 8 and 9 continue the trend... it certainly looks feasible given 8's premise, but how would it happen in 9?

I don't know what "AOL" has to do with anything, but yeah, it's sad that we probably won't get another AOI

Bender dies in the what if bits because he walks such a fine line between oblivion and survival that in almost any other alternate/parrallel universe he dies because of the choices he makes (jeez, long sentance, there should be a comma in there somewhere). It's only his luck that has kept him alive so far.

No, just that the most likely outcome of Benders choices will end messily. But somehow he just manages to continue his existence by blind luck.

Amy Deathwish Comment #1: "Cool go-cart, Leela! It's so hip and sexy! Not like you at all."

Amy Deathwish Comment #2: (Admiring Leela's boots) "Do they come in women's sizes?"

Oh, I'm sure she made those remarks on purpose. Amy is lucky Leela is just a little less impulsive in real life than in the AOI episodes. 

I love these parts of the AOI's.
