In Luck of the Fryish, what was the planet that Yancy's son landed on? Wasn't it Mars? And if it was Mars, shouldn't Amy have known about the first inhabitant of her home planet? Wouldn't that be history? Or am I completely wrong?

You're not wrong technically. Amy probably just isn't very interested in historical stuff and junk. But she could probably go on at length about various brand of fingernail polish, shoes, and clothes.

Remember, Amy is rich, not smart.

I bet half the beings on Futurama don't know who was the first person to land on their planet.

Phillip J. Fry landed on Mars in the 22nd century, and Amy's around in the 31st.  Besides, with the Wong family's claim to basically 1/4 of the planet, and Mr. Wong's attitude towards others (including the original martians), they probably told her that a Wong was the 1st human on Mars...

True, but don't they own the entire western hemisphere? Making that 1/2 the planet, not a 1/4?

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!

Ok...this map explains it. Mr. Wong owns the entire western hemisphere. Which is 1/4 of the the southern hemisphere and 1/4 of the northern hemisphere. That equals, 1/2 of  the planet, which becomes the western hemisphere!

Case Closed.

Yay I win cause 1:I am not in a debate thats going nowhere
2: They probably knew the first person on mars but didnt think he had any relation to Fry. Alot of people with the same last name as us arent even related. And i mean, over 900 years? You wouldnt know whos related to who.

I always thought that Amy at least knew of him, even if she didn't ever mention him or try to connect him to Fry.  If Hermes knew who the first person on Mars was ("Oh, so your brother was that Philip J. Fry!" ) despite 1) not living on Mars and 2) being in an occupation that really has no use for that kind of historical information, then I suspect it's one of those details that's become trivial knowledge in the Futuramaverse.  I'd be surprised if something as significant as "the first time humans landed on another planet" wasn't one of those major historical events that gets mentioned in Earth/Mars history textbooks on a regular basis.

And Bianca has a point: that the two of them shared a full name wasn't much indication that they were related.

Not sure about Amy, but Hermes seemed to know about him.

Hermes: "Oh, your brother was that Phillip J. Fry."

Edit: Sorry I didn't notice that 1BDI already said that.

haha very funny, and for the record, the only thing i like about the french language is that you can look up swear words on google translator and swear them at people and they wont know what the hell your their talkin about.
Vous êtes un peu de Outil qui aime france. Chaque jour, vous réveiller au son de français l'hymne national. Aussi, l'Australie est beaucoup mieux que l'Amérique! LOL!

Wait a minute, isnt France on the same part of the world than America? Get your own penguins! Go southern hemisphere! Go Aussies! thank god for AFL!!! Go Collingwood! American football sucks!

Yeah, I'm done for now.

If I remember rightly there was talk of a Reginald Wong who was the one whole purchased the Martian land for a beed but I can't remember as far back they said he was. But I think it means that they've been there a while. But I just think in relation (teehee) to Philip J Fry and Philip J Fry while there's the haphazard "oh, so you are related then?" - not many people would immediately jump to that conclusion - I just don't think Amy's the sort of person who cares anything about history anyway.

If any of that makes any sense? Probably not...
I'll just go away then...

Calm down now & take a deep breath.  You can have your upside down hemisphere, your confused brand of football, your wrong way swirling toilet water, your backwards seasons & your filthy ice rats...

By the way, the French love your Aussie Rules Football...they think it's "Magnifique"...    ;)

Its doing an american accent! Everyone rekons i sound basically american!
I cant say the same for americans, though. all their impressions of aussies suck!

Also, I heard that one of australias tv shows, Summer Heights High, a fake tv documentary, was about to be put on in america, except they thought america would think it was real!
Go to youtube and type summer heights high and watch if its on there.

Western continent? West of what? New Zealand? Awww, how sweet. They named it based on its position relative to little ol' us.

Actually, while I've never heard the term 'western continent' before, here in New Zealand we do occasionally refer to Australia as the West Island. So maybe that's what she means. (Although, now that you mention it, maybe West Incontinent would be a more appropriate name for the place.)

I cant say the same for americans, though. all their impressions of aussies suck! - You must have a weak social life to have to attempt an American accent (of which there are dozens) at parties to get attention.  Stick to talking about France; I hear Aussies love them bigtime.

Also, I heard that one of australias tv shows, Summer Heights High, a fake tv documentary, was about to be put on in america, except they thought america would think it was real! - We Americans just like your "strange way o' talking".  Like all things coming out of Aussie-land, we ignore the content due to it being ignorant & substandard.

Im sure the french would love our footy, coz its better! yeahhhh, shut down on that one! - Yeah, the French just LOVE your football.  Something about it accentuating gayness appeals to them bigtime.
I don't actually believe that, I just enjoy seeing X.Bianca.X's blood pressure rise... :laff:
