Yes. That's intentional. In the future the word 'ask' has been replaced by 'aks', just as Christmas has been replaced by X-mas. Both linguistic anomolies were revealed as commonplace in the episode 'X-Mas Story', I believe, and is a very well-known facet of the Futurama Universe just FYI.

Actually the pronunciation "axe" is used today is US urban hip/hop areas. I think it's a bit of tounge-in-cheek by the writers that bad English skills will probably win in the long run.
