In series two the proffesor (sorry if I spelt it wrong) was 160 and series three was set two years later so he would have been 162. In series four (episode teenage mutant leela hurdles) he was only 160. Did you notice this?

Right so far.

One year later. Series three is one year later than series two.

The prof. had just reached his "sesquicentennial" birthday in S2, making him "150". We later realise this is 160. In S3 he would have been 161. In S4 he would be 161 (the age given on the age-thingy as wielded by the nurse) up until his 162nd birthday. Therefore TMLH takes place begins before the professor's 162nd birthday.

Nice try, but so very wrong nonetheless. A swing and a miss.

Edit: Now that I think about this, this didn't deserve its own thread. It should have been raised in the Goof Thread, as it was a perceived "goof".

Further Edit: I have "corrected" my statement in light of Gopher's.

Sorry, tnuk, but YOU are mistakenyour timeline is incomplete. At the begining of Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles (4ACV09) he was indeed aged at 161, but that was before the age-modification processes began. He reverted all the way down to a teenager, possibly pre-teen, before jumping in the fountain of aging. At the end, when he tested himself with the age reader, he declared he was "even older!" immediately before breaking his hip. We never see the display, so his actual age is no longer known precicely, but it is in fact older than 161 before what would, chronologically, be his 162nd birthday.

My timeline is indeed incomplete. It ges all the way up to the first age-reading, as that is the only one that is not affected by the age modifcation process involving the chroniton-saturated tar.

Exactly.

I discounted these because the altered readings are not "true" readings. They are the result of interference with the usual aging process.

The question that was asked also appeared to be directed at this moment, and I made an assumption based on my own opinion. Whilst this may seem arbitrary and high handed, I make no apologies, and submit to you that within the realm of the answer I have given, I am correct.

Your pedantry is therefore, in this instance, at least as inaccurate as my previous statement immediately prior to its' slight modification.

Edited because Gopher's impudence blinded me to the disgraceful ineptitude of my UBB tagging. All fixx0red now, except for my rampant abuse of the poor, overworked comma.

That's the reason I still post in On-topic. Whenever I feel the need, I can make myself look like a genius. It's the same principle as standing next to an ugly person in order to appear more attractive. Which in turn is why so many people like to stand near me.     :p

[paranoia]Edit: Don't think I didn't catch the subtext. You came here to put one over on me, intending to make sure I don't rise above what you consider to be my station. I know... I see... I feel your plotting and your scheming...[/paranoia]

Further Edit: I think we ought to stop spamming this thread up now. It's pretty much served its purpose and we should leave it to either sink into the second page or be closed by the next wandering minstrel moderator who happens by.

Put one over on you, yes; make sure you don't rise above your station... do what now? I'm confused.

...

Why am I whispering?

Well, I was gone altogether for a long time, but except for the cryptogram thread I tend to just skim over titles in on-topic these days, sorry :/
