Somewhere around '88 i guess.  smile
But then, technically, they are not in jars, they're frozen. It sorta looks the same though.

Yeah I'd have to say, based on the coloration of the paper scanned, and the crudeness of the drawings done by Groening, I would have to say this was drawn sometime in the year 1988 A.D. Anyway... yeah I had seen that before, that is one of my favorite life in hell. Another of my favorite is Groening drawing himself being asked stupid questions from "fans". That cracks me up every time I see it. It makes me think how I would act if I really met him. One guy goes up to him "I love all your work! I love everything you do! What the hell is that?" and Groening tells him "It's a 'Life in Hell' book." and the guy says "Never heard of it." And then the people asking him what characters are gay. Ha ha. Don't worry I have my practice question down if I ever get to meet him. "Hey Matt I want to be just like you when I grow up! Do you wear boxers or briefs?" see, it's better to say something that he'll remember that way you'll be remembered. Yeah he might think you're a freak... but you'll be remembered. Ha ha. And possibly made into a cartoon one day. Anyway that's enough jabbering from me.. For more information on Matt Groening visit your school library........

Why!! Why was I programmed to feel pain?!?!?!

I don't discriminate, I hate everyone the same
