I noticed this a while back, in Fear of a Bot Planet during the Blurnsball game there is an alien with a multi couloured wig on holding a sign saying '3:16' as shown here:

Ok, now on the Simpsons, Matt's other show, on the episode Stark Raving Dad when supposedly Micheal Jackson was to appear in Springfield a crowd of people gathered around The Simpsons house waiting for him and a guy in the crowd is again wearing a multi coloured wig and holding a sign saying '3:16' as shown here:

There has to be a reason why Matt included this same reference in both of his shows but I have no idea what it is a reference of and am quite curious to know? Does anyone else know what this reference included means, of '3:16', in both of Matt's shows as I would be glad to know why if anyone does, thanks Peelers???   wink

It was used in Family Guy as well.   wink

It's a Bible Quote:

Quote
John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

And it was written on a sign and held high on various sports events in the 80ies by an American guy. See the wiki page on him here: Rollen "Rainbow" Stewart

Wow a very impacting Bible quote there I can see why Matt used it for 'big' occasions such as Micheal Jackson coming to town and a Blurnsball match lol  laff. You sure know your stuff GFF thanks for the info, much appreciated  wink
