I've always wandered this ever since I started watching Futurama as a big blooper I noticed and I wander if any of you on the site can solve it?

Ok you know when Fry is sat in the Crygenics lab and the conuntdown to the year 2000 happened and at Midnight he blew the party whistle and then fell into the freezer, right which then was set to 1000 years. So technically Fry fell into the pod just after midnight into the year 2000, Ok.

So when Fry then wakes up in the future he wakes up to meet Leela who says now its New years eve so I want to assign you quickly to the Year 3000, which then it hasn't been 1000 years in the pod but a bit earlier as if it would have been exactly 1000 years in the pod then he would have woke up just into the year 3000??????

A big mistake huh, does anyone have a theory on how this could be correct and has anyone else noticed this like me? Then post and tell me about it????      :D

My explanation is something changed in the Earth's rotation or we stopped or overdid leap year, causing Fry to freeze exactly 1000 years in the future, yet Earth has one day to reach that time.

Yeah it will be something technical like that or a BIG mistake in my opinion. Anyone else got an opinion?

Beside that idea i_c_weiner already had. It is also possible that the clock on the cryonic tube wasn't that accurate. To lose few hours within 1000 years isn't that much of a mistake. Especially since power problems during the wars against aliens and such would have occured.
Another, really simple explanation could be that the people in the cryogenics lab simply turned the tube back few hours. Who wants to work on new years eve anyhow...
